Yesterday marked one year since we officially started waiting for our opportunity to adopt and make one of our biggest dreams come true 🌈

Eventhough it’s only been a year, it seems like so much longer. This last year has taught us to be more patient, to not take things for granted, to enjoy our time together, to have more grace and less hurt in our hearts, to lessen anxiety and worry about things we can not control, to keep going and not give up.

We are still waiting and are still so hopeful that what’s meant to be for us will come to us. We are ready. Our home is ready, our family is ready, our hearts are ready🩵

Thank you for continuing to follow our journey and we hope (more than anything) that this next year will be the year that we become mom & dad! 🤗

Happy Easter! 🐰🐣 we hope you all had a great day celebrating in your favorite way.

We spent the day with Kirstin’s family enjoying laughs and good food! We even got to enjoy an adult Easter egg hunt and Easter baskets 😁 Kirstin’s mom says she will continue to give us Easter baskets until we have a child of our own so maybe that will be next year (🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻) we’re so excited to get to celebrate holidays as a family of three someday 🥰

Happy Sunday everyone 💕

We have had a busy past couple of months so we apologize for the lack of updates 😬 we are currently still waiting to be matched with a birth mom and hoping that day is coming soon for us! It has been a long 10 months of waiting so far.. It has felt more like years to us but we have kept our minds occupied lately with our 2nd wedding anniversary trip, spending time with family & friends, going through foster parenting classes, refinishing the baby crib, and getting the baby room ready little by little!

We are thankful and appreciate everyone’s continued love and support 🥰 and as always…

• Began our adoption journey and received endless amounts of support and love ❤️

• Watched some of our family and friends get married 😍
• Enjoyed our pool with some of our favorite people 🌞
• Had fun at so many birthday parties 🎉

We have been a little quiet on here lately because we have been so busy celebrating Christmas with our loved ones! I didn’t get nearly enough photos because we were too busy laughing and enjoying our time. 🤗

Whew! We blinked and it’s already Sunday evening! We’ve had such a great last few days with family and friends celebrating Thanksgiving 🦃 We hope you all had a great holiday too!

We kicked off the festivities with an early Thanksgiving meal at Seth’s mom’s house and then we headed to Kirstin’s parents’ house for our next Thanksgiving meal. Both were delicious of course!

One of Kirstin’s favorite holiday traditions is Black Friday shopping with her family. After the meal at her parents’ house, everyone gathers around the table and flips through all the ads to find gifts and make a plan for the next day. This year: 8 hours of shopping, 12 shopping bags, and an endless amount of laughs made Black Friday a success!

We ended the weekend with decorating our house for Christmas! Another tradition of ours is setting up the tree together the weekend after Thanksgiving 🎄

We truly have so much to be thankful and grateful for this year! Here’s to hoping we have a little turkey of our own soon ♥️

One of the things that Seth and I have learned is that we love creating things together. This is a project we have been working on since the summer and finally got it finished and in the perfect spot this weekend!

We were so kindly given this changing table and I had a vision for it right away! We sanded, painted, repaired the drawers, changed the hardware, and found a place for it in the nursery that we have been working on. It’s funny how something so small can give you so much emotion. We can’t wait to change our first diaper on this thing 😄

Next project: the crib! Stay tuned ❣️

What’s the hardest part of waiting to adopt?

The waiting 😬😬😬

It’s so hard to keep the negative thoughts out of your head sometimes. Are we good enough to be parents? Will someone ever choose us? Why has our path to becoming parents been so difficult? All of these thoughts plus 1000 more pop in and out of our heads constantly but the one thing we hold on to is hope. Hope that someday our family will grow. Someday all of this waiting will be worth it. Someday we will feel like the luckiest people on earth when someone gets to call us mom and dad.

Until then, we will just keep waiting, hoping, and praying.
