Like it or not, AI is here to stay. We all use it. This is not an AI-hate post.
It IS a buyer beware post.
If you're outsourcing too much of your thinking, marketing, strategy, creation, social media to AI without injecting YOUR OWN POINT OF VIEW... without INSERTING YOUR VOICE into it, challenging it, and pushing back against AI, you're going to get generic AI slop.
You’re going to sound like everyone else.
Generica.
Generica.
Generica.
DO NOT OUTSOURCE YOUR HUMANNESS.
YOU are what got you to where you are, and YOU are what is going to get you to the next level.
And as AI takes over even more, I believe the brands that win are going to be those that lead with their humanity. People don't want AI, mechanical, robotic interactions.
The other day, a friend told me about a job interview he had that was conducted entirely by an AI “interviewer.” He described it as cold, mechanical, and soulless. By the end of the interview, he wasn't even sure he wanted to work for the company anymore.
I mean, efficiency is one thing, but you need to know where to draw the line. There comes a point where efficiency is no longer a gain. It's a loss.
People are craving human interaction now more than ever. We want connection. Community. Real conversation.
Brands that are winning understand this. They’re creating touch points, gatherings, and experiences to increase human interaction, not eliminate them.
People want to know a living, breathing, caring, feeling, human is behind the brand.
So sure, use AI.
But don’t outsource your whole everything to it. Don’t let it replace your perspective. Write your own messages. Share your own stories. Lead with your own point of view.
Trust, it will make your POV and voice stronger when it originates from your lived experience and not an LLM's. Is your name Claude? Chat? Didn’t think so.
So originate things from your own brain first.
Make AI your employee, not your boss.
And think about ways you can inject the humanity into your brand, your marketing, and your customer experience.
That's how you'll win in the AI era.
