SEMI-CUSTOM BRANDS LAUNCHING FEBRUARY 24TH! ✨

Let’s talk details of what a semi-custom brand is -

Just like my fully custom brands, I start with strategy, business foundations, and a lot of research. I wanted to make sure these could be used for any type of business so I tried to focus on the feeling the type of business would give their community and what these businesses would stand for.

Then once I felt like that was complete, I started to sketch for the primary logo. Once I got to a place that I loved and felt like it fit all of the vibes and feelings of the imagined business foundations, I started to create the rest of the logos. Each package will include a primary logo, a secondary logo, and an icon.

The hardest part about this was making sure that I kept things a little more simple because I wasn’t sure of the names of the businesses that would be using these (and that can drastically affect the layout of things) but don’t worry, customizations will be added!

I’ve created 3 different brands that have very different feelings so there's something for every business. You’ll choose the one that fits closest to your business foundations, I’ll customize it with your business's name, we’ll go over a color palette to make sure those are strategic too, and send over the final files! It’s that easy.

There will only be 2 available of each brand to make sure that things stay exclusive because I still believe in the fact that your branding should set you apart from the rest of your field, not imitate it.

Happy 2023! I personally love the energy that the new year brings. Thinking of what this year can hold, making plans and goals, a new planner!!, I love it all. ✨

So in the spirit of goals and to-do lists, I’m here to tell you if you aren’t happy with your current brand/website design, maybeeeeee updating that should be on your 2023 list too!

I know, I know, you’re probably thinking “something else?!”, BUT if you are coming up with new offers, new products, a new vision for your business, etc., then all of your visuals need to reflect that!

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here so let’s recap my current offers (more to come this year)!

My process heavily focuses on strategic brand and website design. This means we will talk through the small details of your business like your audience, what your business stands for, your mission statement, brand personality, etc. before we even get to the visuals. These things actually help guide the visuals and make sure that every single thing we create visually means something to your business. This makes your branding and your website actually communicate and work for your business vs. just looking pretty (don’t worry, it’ll be stunning once we’re done!).

I don’t have set packages, mainly because every business I work with has unique needs! The first thing we will do is chat through the details of the project to figure out exactly what you need (and what you don’t) and I’ll put together a custom package for you.

I have 1 spot left for a brand/web/brand + web project for August, 1 spot left for September, and 2 spots for October!

Uhhhh hi! It’s been a while since I last posted on my feed. 🥴

I took a much needed social media break for a few reasons but since the beginning of the year I’ve been struggling a little bit, mentally. I haven’t been diagnosed with anything yet so I don’t want to give it a title but I was feeling extremely unmotivated, anxious, and just sort of going through the motions. So if something wasn’t specifically for a paying client, it literally wasn’t going to get done - hence why social media was the first thing to go.

I don’t say any of this for sympathy or as an excuse, I guess I just wanted to be transparent and share so maybe if someone else was struggling, they would see they aren’t alone (something I felt). I’ll share more when I finally see a doctor and a therapist too because this is something that’s important to me and feel I should share. Because business is human and running a business is not always a walk in the park as many people on here make it seem.

Anyways, more on that later but I’m back on here and can’t wait to share some of the things I’ve been working on for clients and some new offerings too!

Why is color SO important in your branding? 🎨

Color has meaning and can invoke certain feelings to the viewer. We want to make sure that we are communicating and invoking the right feelings when our audience is viewing your brand!

Let’s dive into an example for a recent client of mine and detail out what each color represents to show why we chose them!

Green - Symbolizes growth, renewal, and good health. Green is also known as the color of ilfe and has a calming feeling for the viewer.

Purple - Symbolizes peace, wisdom and elegance. Purple is also uplifting and encouraging to it’s viewers.

Orange - Symbolizes good health and encouragement. Orange is also seen as friendly and effective for promoting food products.

Beige - Symbolizes dependability, elegance, and simplicity. Beige is also relaxing and comforting to the viewer.

SURPRISE! It’s a rebrand! 🎉

A few months ago I realized that I had never taken myself through the full branding process with strategy and everything. The first logo I made for Olive Brand was great and it served my business well but I’ve pivoted a lot in my business since then so she needed a little makeover!

Things I wanted to focus on:

✨ Making sure it was a better reflection of my design style. I love mixing a little bit of traditional and modern styles and colors to create something timeless.

✨ I didn’t want to fit into the current design trends for other designs (neutral colors, thin fonts, etc.), not that it’s not beautiful but I wanted to stand out more.

✨ I also wanted to reflect my personality a little more too since I’m a one woman show. Something a little more fun and bold!

I’ve always found the branding process for myself to be incredibly difficult but this time it was one of the easiest things I’ve ever put together.

It’s hard for me to put into words what 2021 meant for me in my business (which is why it’s almost February and this post is just now happening), but I’m going to keep it short and sweet.

In honor of being transparent on the internet more, at the beginning of 2021, I almost gave up on my business. Yup, you read that right. I thought I wasn’t cut out for entrepreneurship because I didn’t have 10k months (or even a client a month) or all of the garbage that the business industry tells you you have to do in order to be ‘successful’.

But January of 2021 literally changed everything. I started booking dream clients that literally made me excited about designing again. I had my best financial year yet (not 10k months but that wasn’t even the goal and still isn’t). And overall, I gained a ton of confidence in my business and proved to myself that I could make my crazy dream a reality (and help others make theirs a reality in the process!).

So first, thank you to everyone that I had the honor of working with this year. I was so lucky with this bunch because every last one of you was a joy to work with! Thank you a billion times. 

AND thank you to all of you for following along as well! I appreciate every like, follow, share, etc! 💕

Second, I have A LOT planned for this year (most of it things that I’ve wanted to launch since the beginning) and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

My biggest lesson learned from this year: when you’ve hit your breaking point, something amazing is probably right around the corner. Keep pushing and holding onto your dreams because they can and they will happen.

I recently did a poll on my personal instagram to see where people felt the most comfortable making a purchase from - Etsy, a website, Instagram/Facebook or other. The results were interesting! ⤵️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

72% - a website⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
24% - Etsy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2% - instagram/facebook⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2% - other⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This tells me that people WANT a unique experience. That they want to know more about your brand (which includes you and your business) and your products. And people feel most comfortable entering their credit card information on a professional website more so than anywhere else.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is why having a website that is just for your business is so beneficial. It builds trust with your customers and gives them a unique experience as if they were shopping in a brick and mortar store. It gives a place for your branding to really shine and plenty of space to let your customers know exactly what your business does and what it stands for to build loyal customers that keep coming back. ✨⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But to be fair, it’s partially for a good reason.

See, when a lot of business owners talk about strategy, they are talking about one size fits all strategies. I’m mainly talking about the - how you can grow to 6 figures using this exact strategy I used- type of strategy. But strategy for your business can’t be one size fits all because our businesses aren’t the same!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So when I talk about strategy for your brand and website, I’m not talking about something I apply to every single client I work with.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Each brand and website strategy that I put together is dependent on the core values of YOUR business and the psychology of YOUR customers. It’s as unique as your business is because the whole goal is to have you stand out amongst your competitors, not fit in and do what they are doing.

And while I can’t promise you’ll make 6 figures, I can promise that you’ll feel so much more connected to your branding, your customers will feel so much more connected, and you’ll see growth because of this (revenue/community/time).

Design is SO powerful but only when it’s strategic because *hot take* - design without meaning is just art. 🤷‍♀️

What is your website goal? 🤔 If the crickets are chirping, keep reading! ⬇️

Having a goal for your website is SO important because it’s what we base the entire website design around! For example, if your goal is to inform your customers about your products and lead them to make a purchase, we want to make sure all of the necessary sections are there and are organized to lead them to that end goal.

Here’s how it’s done! ✨

First, we’ll dive into the psychology of your customers to make sure the website is laid out in a way that is organized and strategic. We will use what we know about your customers to think like them and place key parts of information, calls to action, and important functionalities in a way that leads them through the site. The focus here to keep them on the website longer than .5 seconds and get them to your website goal.

Then, we want to narrow down the information that you’re giving your customers to only what is needed to continue to spark interest. You don’t want your website to feel so overwhelming that your customers instantly click off of the website or the opposite, give 0 information about you, your products, and your brand. This is where we take what is in your brand strategy and write it out!

Once we have all of those details laid out, I’ll then started designing the website! This is where we will use all of your branded elements to really create a unique experience for your customers. When we pair the strategy with the visuals, that’s when the magic happens!

The more strategic you get, the more growth you are going to see. You won’t have people bouncing off of your site almost immediately but you’ll start seeing people spending more time clicking through the pages and you’ll see more customers reaching your website goal (which is why you have a website in the first place)!

If you’ve heard about brand strategy but you still have no idea what that means or looks like, keep reading! ⬇️

I’ve talked a lot about what brand strategy is and why it’s important, but today I wanted to pull back the curtain and share some of the exact questions I ask my clients during the process that you can ask yourself!

✨Why does your business exist?
This is probably the hardest question that I ask my clients to answer but I’m not talking about the surface reason (i.e- to make money, to quit your day job, to give you freedom). I’m talking about the deep deep reason as to why you started your business and who you started it to help! If you don’t feel you’ve gone deep enough, keep asking yourself WHY.

✨What is your brand purpose/mission/values?
These are typically the easier questions we ask but they still create the foundation for your brand and are so important!

✨Why do your customers trust you?
This is an important one that I think a lot of people forget about. If people are spending their hard-earned dollars with you, they trust your brand to deliver quality *insert your product here*!

✨What is your brand personality?
This is essentially the essence of your brand because it not only affects your visuals but also the words your business uses in your social/web content. Having a word to come back to will help keep everything your business puts out cohesive!

These just scratch the surface of the questions that we ask when we put together your brand strategy but they are a great place to start! A full brand strategy session uncovers SO much about your business and creates a really strong foundation for your visuals and your messaging!
