This quote has lived in the back of my mind for months now after hearing say it on an interview 👀
And it COULDN’T be more true— we let the fear of being “cringe” prevent us from so much, and for what?? Because some random friend of a friend on the internet might think you’re “doing too much?”
Trust me, I’ve been there myself— I let literal years go by without taking my personal content creation journey seriously because I worried what people might think, or worse: that they wouldn’t care at all. I was able to create highly engaging content for my clients, but when it came to my own account, I couldn’t get out of my own head. 🥲
Now? I truly dgaf. Maybe it’s motherhood, maybe it’s because I’ve actually seen the proof of what can happen when you post consistently and do it because it’s FUN. So the next time you feel “cringe” for posting, I want you to remember:
— you can’t please everyone (nor should you— everyone has a unique audience)
— the unfollow button is free
— if it matters to you, and you’re coming from an authentic place, it’s never cringe
— you could be monetizing instead of worrying about how you’re coming across to literal strangers (and if it’s someone close to you, that sounds like a “them” problem)
