Ever feel like you’re doing a lot of marketing…and still not seeing much from it?

You’ve probably seen this logo…you just didn’t realize we did it.

We were flipping through the Town of Mount Pleasant 2025 Annual Report and there it was. Connect Mount Pleasant, out in the wild.

When we started this one, the goal wasn’t to make something trendy. It was to make something that felt familiar. Front porches at golden hour, sweet tea in hand, the version of Mount Pleasant people still talk about before it grew up.

We kept coming back to the Pitt Street Bridge, the benches, the palms, the way it pulls people in and slows them down. Not flashy, not loud, just connected.

That’s what shaped the logo. Paired with a vintage-style type that doesn’t try too hard, because it shouldn’t have to.

Now it’s out there. On real pages, in real hands, part of how this town shows up.

And that’s the part we care about most. Not just how it looks, but where it lives. If your logo doesn’t feel like it belongs, it’s missing something.

Meet Zoe. She's a high school senior from Crown Leadership Academy, and she came to me saying she wanted to learn social media.

And I was like, "Love that…but we're going bigger."

Because social media isn't the end-all-be-all. It only works when it's connected to the bigger picture: brand, messaging, storytelling, buyer psychology, local visibility, and the strategy that actually makes people feel something.

So this semester, Zoe's getting a real behind-the-scenes look at how we build marketing that actually moves people, not just content that fills a feed.

Honestly? I wish I'd had something like this my senior year. Would've saved my parents some money on a few very unnecessary college courses. 😂

We're so glad you said yes, Zoe. You're going to do incredible things and we're just grateful we get a front row seat. Welcome to the grit. 💪🏼

This season always slows me down just enough to look around and really feel it. The gratitude.

I’m so thankful for the partners who trusted us this year, the relationships that turned into real friendships, and the lessons that quietly shaped us in all the best ways. It’s been a year of growing, learning, and being reminded how much people matter.

Hope your Thanksgiving is slow, sweet, and full of good company, good food, and the kind of joy that stays with you. 🧡

People love the wins.
They love the finished product, the growth, the “you’re killing it” moments.
But they rarely see the real work behind it.

They don’t see the late nights.
They don’t see the mental load of being the one who has to call every shot.
They don’t see the no days off, the no sick time, the reality that you carry it all and still show up.
They don’t see that entrepreneurship doesn’t sleep, and somehow neither does your drive.

Most folks love the idea of running a business.
Very few want the unglamorous, roll up your sleeves, figure it out as you go work that makes it possible.

But that's where the real growth happens.
That's where the grit gets built.
That's where every entrepreneur earns their edge.

No grit, no pearl.
Every challenge you push through shapes something stronger and more valuable, even when no one is watching.

On National Entrepreneur Day, I am raising a glass to all of you who keep showing up.

But that’s the heartbeat of marketing. Knowing what’s working, what’s not, and how to pivot fast.

Anyone can claim to be a “marketing expert.”
But not everyone digs into the numbers, connects the dots, and actually makes your marketing perform.

Marketing without data isn’t strategy. It’s guessing.

And guessing doesn’t grow a business.
