If you have problems and you know it, clap your hands…[CLAP, CLAP]
Our faces will truly show it, although clapping our hands won’t become our magical solution...if only.
Simply KNOWING about a problem, (or problems), specifically when it comes to our business websites, never solves the crux of the BIG problem; having an INEFFECTIVE website.
Problems, they can be dealt with. But they can also be put off for months, even years. We might even be used to our digital woes. When they’re pointed out to us, an impetuous mutter, (or a variation of), escapes our lips, “yea, yea, I know.”
So, then WHAT?!
Finding a Solution to a Specific Problem
Now, sure, problems DO arise. Oh YES! They ab-so-lute-ly do.
And no one can bring you perfect results. I know I can’t.
But I’d like to highlight some areas of importance if that’s ok.
STEP ONE is an important step, so I’d like to focus on that, in this post.
First, it’s vital to have a solid SEO strategy.
(That’s the copywriter's FAVORITE thing to say... But dang, PROVE IT!)
SEO is the shortened term for search engine optimization.
In a nutshell, SEO is how we tickle Google’s pickle, (organically), and get those high search rankings.
I can’t guarantee any specific results, only targeted strategies.
And you guessed it, it begins with SEO. (An SEO audit)
Using the latest software, tools, (a bit of talent - emoji), and a consistent drive to thrive,
STEP 1 - The Audit
On-site SEO:
-Identify technical errors, advanced performance testing, “look and feel” audit (UX/UI responsive design, mobile-friendly, page speed, make sure there are sufficient calls to action placed throughout your content)
-Duplicate content, broken links, internal links, necessary pages, thin content pages/sections fixes
-H1 tags, meta titles, and meta descriptions optimization
-XML Sitemap, robots.txt, metadata, index check
-Adjust/edit/rewrite sections or pages of your website in a “Google-able” language.
Off-site SEO:
-Backlink profile, redirect quality, anchor text,
-link spikes, trust flow, citation flow
-check for inconsistencies, links to social media platforms
-pixel check, external links, and optimizing content
Google Analytics Audit:
-Setup profile, (if needed)
-Analytics health check
-Traffic analysis
-Data tracking and debugging, (if needed)
-Review of metrics and insights
Google Search Console Audit
-Sitemaps functionality
-Indexing, visibility, ranking road-blocks
-Impressions, CTR or click through rate, crawling performance
-Links (internal, external)
-Check for Google penalties
A proper SEO audit should be completed BEFORE actual SEO implementation. Keep in mind, that this is not the “end all, be all” of SEO auditing. We look at the whole picture and not every picture is the same.
