Interesting article from TechCrunch on Mark Zuckerberg's AI manifesto.

The truth is, many people forget that in order to differentiate from others, you have to include a HUMAN element in your use of AI.

Automation is great, but unfortunately it causes us to remove critical thinking from our workflows.

This Wednesday and Thursday I'll be facilitating sessions on best practices for utilizing AI in procurement spaces at the American Contract Compliance Association (ACCA) annual conference alongside Courtney Young of ForeSight Communications. I'm looking forward to some great working sessions with industry leaders from across the country.

https://techcrunch.com/2026/08/10/mark-zuckerbergs-ai-manifesto-is-exactly-why-people-dont-like-ai/

On Monday, Mark Zuckerberg published a 6,500-word manifesto about personal AI, largely about the possibilities for the "personal superintelligence" systems Meta AI is building.

Meet me outside this summer! 🎉

📍 Atlanta

📍 Chicago

📍 Charleston

📍 Winston-Salem

To say that I'm excited is an understatement. It's wonderful to be in this "I get to..." phase of my life. The phase where having a lot on my plate feels like a blessing and not a burden.

💡 To the Attendees meeting me on the road: What questions do you have for me that can help you further your goals?

💡 To the Organizers: Thank you for trusting me to pour into your attendees.

For over 40 years, MMCA has been a champion for small, minority business owners. As the business landscape has changed drastically in the city of Charlotte, the organization has changed as well-sometimes serving as a tool for networking and mentorship, and other times working alongside local, state, and national leaders as advocates for small business success.

Over the years, one thing has remained true-MMCA will always be a source of information, education, and advocacy when our community needs it most. In a time when many small business owners are facing difficult decisions, inaccurate information, and a lack of support, MMCA stands in the gap, providing a space where community comes first.

If you are a small business owner in North Carolina who is looking for answers, support, or strategies for success, I invite you to join us for our August meeting. It is FREE of charge and open to the public.

There's a saying that "Everything old is new again". The same goes for business trends.

When people started to devalue copywriters, I didn't panic- because I know the value of what we do.

I also knew that at some point, folks would come back to us when their automated ideas didn't work.

AI tools can help you plan and organize. But here are a couple more things AI can help you do:

◽ Discredit you when your copy doesn't sound like a human.

◽ Dilute your messaging and imagery because it gets lost in the sea of

content that looks and sounds just like everyone else.

◽ Suppress your natural ability for independent thinking.

Technology doesn't "do" emotion as humans do.
If you know good marketing and sales, then you know that the biggest conversion tool is emotional connection.

And we all know that nothing sparks emotion for big business more than their profit and loss statements.

Personalized copy and visuals position you in a completely different way. It shows your expertise, creates trust, and confirms your commitment to your brand promise.

Moral of the story: Don't chase trends. The long game will always be your best bet.

📢 I'm excited to be back at the 2026 American Contract Compliance Association (ACCA) National Training Institute’s annual conference, August 10th-14th! As the organization celebrates its 40th Anniversary, the theme for this year is “Southern Roots, Compliance Is Power: Celebrating 40 Years of National Impact.” I’ll be standing alongside the talented Ms. Courtney Young of ForeSight Communications.

Once again, this year we'll be teaching TWO SESSIONS:

◽ The Future of Compliance: Leveraging AI to Drive Smarter, More Equitable Procurement Outcomes

◽ Curating the Future: Transforming Compliance into Economic Impact Through Data, Storytelling, and Community Engagement

These sessions are important in assisting professionals across the nation to navigate their changing work environments, train their staff, and upskill their existing talents to stay ahead of the game. Attendees of the conference will receive Continuing Education Credits.

We all know that this is a crucial time for navigating changes in procurement. Courtney and I both have dedicated countless hours to working, volunteering, and learning all there is to know about the foundational elements of education in this space. These sessions are intentionally designed to address the future of this work for both entrepreneurs and procurement professionals. If you're attending the conference, I would love to see you in my session. If you're not attending, but you're interested in hosting a session for you and your team, shoot me a message at [email protected]

June was a lot! But in a good way. It was one of those months that reminded me why I love the work that I do. Not because it was busy, but because every engagement connected to the same purpose - helping people, organizations, and communities communicate their value in ways that create connection, opportunity, and impact.

Last month, I celebrated alongside my amazing board members at MMCA during the Steel Toe Boot Awards Gala, and was surprised to receive the Professional Services Partner of the Year Award. I also spent Juneteenth with my clients at Historic Mitchelville Freedom Park for an amazing week where history, storytelling, and community came together in one of the most meaningful celebrations of the year.

💡 And while all of those things were happening, I rebuilt my website, launched my podcast, and prepared myself for the latest cohort with The Branded Content Project. Now I'm packing my bags for speaking engagements that will take me to audiences across the country to talk about communication, storytelling, and economic impact.

If you're new here, welcome to my community. I'm so glad to have you here. And if you've been following along for a while, thank you for continuing to be part of this journey.

If social media is the new highlight reel, my newsletter is where we have the real conversation. I'd love for you to join me ‘Beyond The Highlight Reel'.

👉🏽 Comment ‘Highlight’ for a recap of my past 3 emails in the Beyond The Highlight Reel' series.

Last night was absolutely amazing. Our nonprofit organization Metrolina Minority Contractor's Association held its annual Steel Toe Boot Awards Gala. It's an evening of celebration for excellence in minority contracting in the Charlotte region. I'm honored to be a part of an organization committed to economic growth and development in this growing city.
My biggest surprise was being awarded Professional Services Partner of the year. I truly love this space that I'm in getting to both serve my community and support other small business owners.

Our stories are so powerful. As a Communications Strategist, my job is to share stories that showcase our value and our impact. I'm grateful that I'm able to use my platform to share our success as a community.
Thank you to everyone who came to support, and those who sent their well wishes.

My Mom: "We're on vacation. Get off your phone!"

Me: "I'm doing an RFP. I'm almost done."

My Mom: "On your phone????...."

Yes, I do RFPs from my phone. Not all the time. But now and then, I have to tap into my resources. And as a self-employed independent contractor, I have to be flexible when needed. Thanks to Lumin, I was able to work on the go while traveling between cities.

Check out this Case Study published by Lumin, where I share how I work remotely, producing killer RFPs for my clients at ForeSight Communications.

Communication strategist Evelyne Del uses Lumin to keep her document workflows reliable across time zones, teams, and countries — submitting government RFPs from her phone without missing a beat.

What an incredible two days at the North Carolina MWBE Coordinators' Network Quarterly Meeting in Wilson, NC!

I had the honor of presenting sessions on Persuasive Communication to colleagues from across the state, a topic I am deeply passionate about and one that is essential to the work we do every day as MWBE professionals.

But what was even more exciting was the opportunity to share insights on a landmark collaborative project: the Economic Impact Study with research conducted by Economist Dr. Fred McKinney and published by my firm, Del Consulting. This work reflects our collective commitment to data-driven advocacy and elevating the economic contributions of minority and women-owned businesses across North Carolina. I’m grateful to Denisha Harris and the steering committee for their forward-thinking initiative in commissioning this Impact Study. It’s an eye-opening look at the power of minority-owned firms in North Carolina.

Thank you to the North Carolina MWBE Coordinators' Network for another outstanding quarterly gathering. The work continues!

Hitting the road again this Spring and Summer!

Over the next couple of months, I'll be on the road speaking about Communication Strategies, Economic Impact, and Cultural Heritage Tourism and Economic Growth.

These meaningful conversations dig deeper into the tools and resources that help shape our communities and create long-lasting economic impact. I'm excited to be able to share my insights with these powerful organizations.

If you're attending any of the events below, be sure to stop and say "Hello!" And if your organization is looking for a dynamic presenter or keynote, shoot me an email at [email protected]
