WARNING!!!

If you use or are thinking about using the Wal-Mart Money or GO2 Bank Cards...Continue reading!

Both cards are affiliated with Green Dot Corporation which is headquartered in Austin, TX (CEO George Gresham), I have called their so-called Corporate Customer Service number (866-652-4611, option 1, and enter ext. 2667) on several ocassions and ended up speaking with someone with an American name, that had a foreign accent, that promised on more than one ocassion, verbally and in writing, to "close my account" and "refund my monies." It has been over a year since my first request and I have yet to receive my over $2,000 in refunds (see attached image of one account).

It has been a waste of time filing multiple compaints with all government consumer help agencies (CFPB, Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, etc...) as well as the BBB, several State Attorney Generals (AR, CA, TX, UT), political representatives, and all major media outlets.

Last year, Green Dot was fined over $40 million-dollars for fraud and other adverse issues with their consumer base (https://www.federalreserve.gov/newsevents/pressreleases/enforcement20240719b.htm) which includes low income persons that shop at Wal-Mart. That demographic is least likely to have the resources to fight back which is more than likely the reason why no one has stepped up to assist those that have been harmed.

As such, please "share" this message with anyone that you think may be or has used a Wal-Mart or GO2 Bank card!

P.S. -- I used their cards after being ripped off by major banks via their predatory fee system!

It’s a moment many shoppers grapple with at some point during a grocery run: Why does a carton of brown eggs cost more than a carton of white eggs?

Food for Thought!

The high-profile murder trials of O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, and Phil Spector are three of the most sensational legal dramas in American history. Each case captivated public attention due to the celebrities involved and the shocking nature of the allegations. Below, we explore the trials, the outcomes, media coverage, public opinion, and the long-term effects on each individual.

# # # 1. O.J. Simpson
**Criminal Trial (1995)**: O.J. Simpson, a former NFL star and actor, was tried for the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman. The trial was highly publicized and is often referred to as the "Trial of the Century." Simpson was acquitted of the murder charges in a verdict that was televised live and watched by millions worldwide.

**Civil Trial (1997)**: Despite the acquittal in the criminal case, Simpson was later found liable for the wrongful deaths of Brown and Goldman in a civil trial. He was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages to the families of the victims.

**Public Opinion and Media Coverage**: The trial exposed racial divisions in America and was a media sensation, with daily national television coverage that influenced public opinion. Many believed the criminal trial's verdict was a miscarriage of justice, partly influenced by the high-profile nature of the case and perceived missteps by the prosecution.

**Long-term Effect**: Simpson's public image never recovered. His life post-trial included legal troubles, a conviction for armed robbery in 2008, and significant financial problems, largely due to the civil suit damages.

# # # 2. Robert Blake
**Criminal Trial (2005)**: Actor Robert Blake was accused of the murder of his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley. Blake was acquitted of the charges, but the case included dramatic elements, such as the involvement of stuntmen who testified against him, claiming he had solicited their help to kill his wife.

**Civil Trial (2005)**: Shortly after his acquittal, Blake was found liable in a civil trial for the wrongful death of Bakley and was ordered to pay $30 million to her children.

**Public Opinion and Media Coverage**: While the case was highly publicized, it did not reach the level of national obsession seen with O.J. Simpson. Public opinion was mixed, with some believing in his innocence and others convinced of his guilt.

**Long-term Effect**: Blake's career never rebounded. He faced financial ruin due to the civil judgment and lived a relatively reclusive life thereafter.

# # # 3. Phil Spector
**Criminal Trial (2009)**: Music producer Phil Spector was convicted of the murder of actress Lana Clarkson at his home. The trial highlighted Spector’s erratic behavior and history of pulling guns on women. After a mistrial due to a hung jury in his first trial in 2007, Spector was retried and found guilty of second-degree murder in 2009.

**Civil Trial**: There was less focus on any civil action in Spector’s case as the criminal conviction was decisive and resulted in a prison sentence.

**Public Opinion and Media Coverage**: The media coverage of Spector’s trial was extensive, given his reputation in the music industry, but it was less sensational compared to Simpson’s trial. The public generally viewed his conviction as justified given the evidence presented.

**Long-term Effect**: Spector died in prison in 2021, and his legacy in music is forever tarnished by his conviction. The trial reinforced his reputation as a troubled genius with a dark side.

# # # Conclusion
These three cases, while unique in their specifics, illustrate how celebrity, media coverage, and the legal system intersect in American culture. Each trial had a profound impact on public opinion and the legacy of the individuals involved. The intense media coverage and the role of celebrity status in these trials also reflect on the broader societal issues, including the influence of race, wealth, and reputation in the legal process. The stark contrast between criminal acquittal and civil liability in the cases of Simpson and Blake highlights the different standards of proof in criminal vs. civil court. Overall, these cases serve as poignant reminders of the complexities and imperfections of the legal system, especially under the intense scrutiny of public and media observation.

Among O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, and Phil Spector, O.J. Simpson suffered the most both financially and in terms of public opinion. Here's a breakdown of how and why:

# # # Financial Impact
- **O.J. Simpson** was found liable in the civil trial for the wrongful deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman and was ordered to pay $33.5 million in damages. His earnings from pensions and personal appearances were largely protected from creditors, but his assets were significantly depleted by legal fees and the civil judgment. Moreover, Simpson's ability to earn a substantial income through endorsements or acting was effectively destroyed following the trial.
- **Robert Blake** also faced severe financial consequences due to his legal troubles. After being acquitted in the criminal trial but found liable in the civil case, he was ordered to pay $30 million to Bonnie Lee Bakley's children. The financial burden forced him into bankruptcy.
- **Phil Spector**, while facing substantial legal fees, did not suffer the same level of financial destruction in the form of a civil judgment as his wealth was largely intact at the time of his conviction. However, the cost of his defense and loss of potential earnings impacted his finances.

# # # Public Opinion
- **O.J. Simpson**'s case had a deep and lasting impact on public opinion. His criminal trial's acquittal was highly controversial, with significant portions of the public believing that he was guilty despite the jury's verdict. This led to a broad and enduring negative perception of Simpson, compounded by his subsequent legal troubles and conviction for armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008.
- **Robert Blake** received a mixed reaction from the public. While some believed in his innocence, others felt he might have gotten away with murder. However, the public scrutiny and negative opinions he faced did not reach the intensity or duration of those directed at Simpson.
- **Phil Spector** was largely seen as guilty by the public even before his conviction, due to his eccentric and increasingly reclusive behavior, along with a history of alleged violent acts. Although his reputation was tarnished, the focus on him diminished significantly once he was incarcerated.

# # # Conclusion
**O.J. Simpson** clearly suffered the most both financially and in terms of public opinion. His case not only involved massive financial penalties but also led to a long-term public vilification that obliterated his former status as a beloved sports hero and media personality. The combination of a high-profile criminal acquittal followed by a substantial civil penalty, and then further criminal convictions, kept him negatively in the public eye far more consistently than either Blake or Spector.
