Even though it's not finished, Doug Herbert brounght his "Beast" streamliner to the salt from North Carolina to get it checked out by SCTA tech officials. Hopefully, it will be ready for Speedweek 2027.

Doug Herbert is going after a world record in his NextGen “The Beast” land speed record car! 🏆

Hand fabricated and built to the highest level of innovation. Chasing a dream started by his father, Doug is no stranger to making things fast! 💨

The Beast will be at Bonneville 2026 for some preliminary safety inspections!

Multi-time NHRA Top Fuel drag racing champion Doug Herbert announced plans to unveil his latest project, ‘THE BEAST NextGEN’ at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Wendover, Utah on Friday, July 31. While the streamliner is still under final construction, Herbert will bring it to Bonneville to gain the blessing of the Southern California Timing Association’s (SCTA) technical staff before the machine’s build is completed.
