We’ve all seen it, brands going head-to-head on social media. Sometimes it’s hilarious, sometimes it’s painful to watch. 😬

So, what should your brand do if a competitor throws shade? Should you fire back? Stay silent? Make a cheeky reply?

The answer: it depends. 👀

A clever, well-timed response can make people love your brand even more. But get it wrong, and you might look insecure, or worse, like a bully. Before you hit send, ask yourself these key questions:

- Does our response feel mean? If so, our customers might not like seeing us in that light.
- Do we look bothered? If so, we might come off as insecure about our own product.
- Would this response make our customers root for us? If not, we shouldn’t post.
- If the roles were reversed, would we be upset by our own response?
- Are our customers already defending us? If so, maybe we should let them do the talking.

And remember, sometimes the best response is no response at all. 🏆
