The Ochs Center, founded in 1962 as the Metropolitan Council for Community Forces, has a long history in the Chattanooga area. Originally it acted locally “to suggest needs, to define objectives, to point out needless duplications of effort in the various community health and welfare organizations.”
For the past several years, Ochs Center has been building a solid foundation of partnerships, staff, board, and a broad inventory of work examples. The center’s staff includes program evaluators, education specialists, sociologists, computer scientists, statisticians, and communications and accessibility specialists.
