In 1993 my boss dropped the NYC Yellow Pages on my desk (5 books, 5 boroughs, 5 pounds of paper) and told me to start cold calling companies. I was WORDLESS. I was a brand new recruiter for an employment agency for people with disabilities and I had to learn quickly to find my words. It took months before I could make "an ask" without sweating first.
Fast forward to 2018, after years of advocating for others in different ways, Wildflower opened as a side hustle to continue giving a voice to those who needed support primarily with public relations. Entrepreneurs and small business owners who juggled launching a business- online and brick and mortar, inundated with "all the things" that starting a business drops on your lap like a stack of yellow pages while attempting to balance life and family, too. They needed the right words to make connections to media, influencers, potential collaborators, words that took time and energy to put together.
This photo below is one example of how my words opened a door and is one of my most cherished successes. If you're unfamiliar with Gary Vaynerchuk, do a quick Google search. He is the CEO of VaynerX, author, speaker, and Internet celebrity. Yep, I am also in that photo taken during a zoom call. Short version- I invited GaryVee to be a guest on a podcast for a former client and he said yes.
Finding the right words can be exhausting when you've got everything else to manage. There are only so many hours in a day. If you need support finding words and ways to connect with media and influencers give me a shout. I've got the words ready to ask anyone for anything.
