Someone bought 30 WordPress plugins and planted a backdoor in all of them. As a WordPress designer, this is something I’d note.

“Google is its own top source.”

That was the headline from a recent SEO study analyzing 1.3 million AI-generated answers.

What they found:
Google is the most-cited source in its own results.
YouTube (also owned by Google) is second.

And at the same time?
77% of mobile searches now end without a click.

Let that sink in.

Search isn’t just about ranking anymore.
It’s about being used.

AI isn’t just pulling links… it’s selecting, summarizing, and citing content it trusts.

Which means your content has to do more than exist.
It has to be clear, structured, and genuinely helpful enough to be chosen.

The good news?
This isn’t random.

Each platform has its own nuances, but we’re seeing consistent patterns in what gets cited.

👉 Yes, you can optimize for AI.
👉 Yes, you can regain visibility (even without the click).
👉 And yes, strategy matters more now than ever.

SEO isn’t dead.
But it has changed.

⚠️ WordPress released two security updates this week, fixing 10 vulnerabilities.

If your website runs on WordPress, you may have noticed multiple updates released this week. The WordPress security team released WordPress 6.9.2, followed quickly by 6.9.3 and 6.9.4, after researchers discovered 10 security vulnerabilities in the platform.

⚙What was fixed (the technical side):
These updates patch several types of vulnerabilities, including issues like:
• Blind SSRF (Server-Side Request Forgery)
• Cross-Site Scripting (XSS)
• Data exposure vulnerabilities
• Access control and input validation issues

In technical terms, these vulnerabilities could potentially allow attackers to manipulate requests, inject malicious scripts into pages, or access information that should remain protected.

✨What that means in plain English:
Think of these vulnerabilities like unlocked windows in your house.
They could allow someone to:
❎Inject malicious code into your website pages
❎Trick your site into sending requests it shouldn’t
❎Access sensitive information stored on your site
❎Potentially gain more control over the website than they should

Even if you never notice it happening, attackers often scan the internet automatically looking for outdated sites.

👏The good news

The WordPress security team moved quickly and released updates to close those “windows.”
If your website is running:
WordPress 6.9.2
WordPress 6.9.3
or WordPress 6.9.4
…the vulnerabilities addressed in the earlier versions are patched.

📝 What you should do
✔ Update WordPress to the latest version
✔ Make sure your plugins and themes are updated
✔ Keep regular backups of your site
