One of my favorite parts of branding is watching it come to life in real experiences.

I previously worked with Katie to create her logo and brand identity, so I was honored when she reached out to design materials for her first Hidden Gem Escape (Newport, RI).

We created digital flyers that were sent to guests ahead of the event, along with a weekend booklet used to keep track of scheduled plans and choose from curated activities or free time.

Each piece was thoughtfully designed using her brand colors and elements, keeping everything cohesive, elevated, and easy to navigate.

Another addition to the “Logos I Love”!

Logos can be loved for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes there’s out of the box…and sometimes the box is tipped over. 🙃

That’s exactly what this one company did. Their logo stands out and it’s unique because at first you wonder if it’s an accident or if you are seeing things. But it makes you remember the brand. You may not remember the name exactly, but you’ll remember they are the rental company with the upside down logo. A heck of a lot easier recognition when you’re trying to remember something that you only saw briefly. (here’s a secret, I even went online to double check 😉).

Sometimes you have to put a logo to work before you realize it needs a little extra love.

That was the case for this client! I originally designed a logo inspired by their ducks on the farm — but once it went into full use, we noticed a few things weren’t quite working:
1️⃣ The feet were tricky on image backgrounds
2️⃣ Not embroidery’s best friend
3️⃣ Missing a few key details — especially important for visitors!

So, we grabbed some coffee and chatted through the “must-haves.” Then I got to work right there in the café (one of my favorite parts of what I do — creating in real time with my clients!). We kept the feet, added the location, and gave everything a little polish. 🦆☕️✨

Just for the record…I left the house today with makeup on, tights, and dress!!!

Sometimes it’s hard when you’re so used to sitting behind your computer where the only one who sees you is your dog, or when “getting dressed” is from the waist up for a Teams call. Most days I typically walk out of the house in workout clothes or a pair of jeans. So for my networking event this evening I decided to get a little dressed up!

Tonight’s Polka Dot event was such a wonderful reminder of the power of connection — inspiring conversations, supportive women, and plenty of laughter. 💕

I’m excited to start something new here, a little series I’m calling Logos I Love! 💛

As a designer, I can’t help but notice the creative details around me. Sometimes it’s a clever shape, a fun color choice, or a logo that just feels right.

Case in point: I met a friend for breakfast the other morning and ordered an amazing Lox bagel sandwich (w/o cream cheese, IYKYK) and a basic coffee — but the branding on this cup was anything but basic! ☕️

Clean, simple, and so clever. The bold lettering paired with that bagel icon perfectly fits the café vibe. ()

It’s such a fun reminder that good design really is everywhere — you just have to look for it. 💛
