It was the U.S.'s withdrawal from the Paris Agreement that made me decide to start eating local in September. I realized change was never going to come from on high. My family and I are still doing along with Apothecary Gardens NY and my sister-in-law, who joined us for the first time this year.

And another reason to : U.S. farmers are looking at near-record yields of corn and soybeans but a lot less demand from overseas. "For many growers, the prices are so low that they will lose money on each acre planted."

The tractor maker said that sales were down and that higher metal tariffs would cost it $600 million, while American farmers face dwindling overseas demand for some crops.
