What a privilege it has been to be trusted with the hopes and dreams of five Chicago youth this summer.

Last week, we hosted our Treazure Marketing Summer Internship End of Program Presentation and Networking Event, where our four graduating interns shared the work they accomplished this summer, whether that meant serving a Case Study client, building their own business, or both.

Thank you to every guest who showed up to give feedback and guidance as these young people venture into their careers. Thank you to our partner, Ladies of Virtue (). Thank you to our worksite and Case Study Client of three years, Strugglebeard Bakery. Thank you to our Program Facilitator, Isaiah Edwards. Thank you to our very first intern, Olivia Obikili. Thank you to our new Case Study Clients, Attack the Sound and others. And thank you to the active parents and everyone who supported these journeys.

This was our 2nd Annual Summer Internship. Growing from one intern and zero curriculum structure, just straight hands-on, to five interns, a Program Facilitator outside of Treazure Owens herself, a fully executed curriculum with daily Program Facilitator Guides and Intern Cheat Sheets, an End of Program Presentation Event, one to three Case Study Client options, four tracks (PR, Events Management, Social Media Management, Business Development), and an alumni program for monthly networking and continuing education was tough but necessary. The value add was well worth the investment.

Twenty hours a week for six weeks, not counting sick days, among other various pivots, our interns launched email marketing campaigns, managed social media accounts, found RFPs, built slide decks, leveraged AI, and more.

We hope our new Alumni keep building on the infrastructure they set, and rejoin us soon. 🙏🏾 Great job team!

Congratulations to our client the Aquinnah Cultural Center on a successful 19th Annual Native Artisan Market & Festival at Aquinnah Circle! 🎉

Each year ACC brings the community together to shop directly from Native artisans, enjoy traditional Wampanoag singers and dancers, watch live artist demos, and create alongside the makers. Free, family friendly, and full of culture in Aquinnah, MA.

Our team was honored to support ACC through a year-long engagement building and running their digital marketing systems, and we loved developing the promo concept for this year's festival, drawing inspiration from ACC's past advertisements and creating a brand new Gay Head Cliffs graphic to anchor the design. Swipe to see our year together.

Seeing an event like this thrive year after year is exactly why we do this work. Here's to year 20. 🧡

Week 3 of 5 in our Summer Internship Program.

This week we welcomed two new interns, Santiago and Jason, to the cohort. Jason completed onboarding, set up his professional portfolio, and trained on business fundamentals including NAICS codes, sales funnels, and certifications. Santiago hit the ground running, named his own venture, and drafted his first service agreement to get serious about going into business with his two friends.

Rayonna delivered her first client video for Strugglebeard Bakery, averaging above 500 views on each platform. She is also building brand guidelines and shot lists for upcoming content days, helping Strugglebeard Bakery onboard future marketing staff easily and standardizing information to share with future partners and press.

Aniyah is running media research and event calendar submissions for Attack the Sound across Chicago and Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the pre-performance at the Chicago Fire match was cancelled, but she was able to support on-site media relations and content capture at the Dreamchasers United Fundraiser and Gala.

Sydney is learning how to qualify RFPs to respond to her first one next week and building out a business plan for her photography company.

Two weeks to go. We are challenging the interns to their fullest ability. Some have fallen behind on their My Chi My Future Modules so we may need to pivot but we'll have their backs for this full journey.

This program runs in partnership with Ladies of Virtue and Chicago Youth Works. We're excited to see the final outcomes.

Most of our Interns have started their Case Study Client projects, except for the new faces that we’ll be fully onboarding next week.

Today, our Social Media Management Intern, Rayonna, spent her time catching b-roll and testimonials for her Case Study Client Strugglebeard Bakery.

Can’t wait to see the finished product! 🤗

First live client meeting for our PR Intern, Aniyah.

Today she presented her introduction deck to Attack the Sound. Walked them through what she knows about their business, pitched her ideas, and asked her questions.

She spoke with authority. Handled every question that came her way. We were not expecting that level of confidence in week two, and we could not be prouder.

Today, our Interns worked on their Client Introduction Slide Decks, where they introduce themselves, share what they know about their Case Study Client's business, pitch ideas to increase visibility and convert customers, and ask the questions they have.

They practiced amongst one another, giving peer feedback and receiving feedback from our Program Facilitator. Rayonna had a chance to put hers into action as she met with the leadership of Strugglebeard Bakery's marketing team, with her first deliverable due Thursday.

We also covered what it's like to do business with Treazure Marketing, from understanding NAICS Codes to Business Certifications to Audience Segmentation and more.

Lots of learning and teamwork shown today.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Great job Rayonna! And everyone!

Our Social Media Management Intern, Rayonna Herron, stopped by WGN-TV to support her case study client, Strugglebeard Bakery, as they were featured on this morning’s Sunday Brunch segment! 🤗🍪

Watch the full feature here: https://lnkd.in/gRir4vs8

The recurring Sunday Brunch segment on WGN Weekend Morning News highlights standout restaurants, bakeries, chefs, and local food businesses from across the Chicagoland area, giving viewers fresh inspiration for their weekend meals.

During today’s feature, owner Quinton McNair shared the story behind the bakery’s Charles Anthony cookie, named in honor of his brother. At Strugglebeard Bakery, every signature cookie tells a story and pays tribute to someone who has made a meaningful impact on Quinton’s life or in the community, making each recipe as personal as it is delicious.

Congratulations to the entire Strugglebeard Bakery team on another well-deserved spotlight! 👏🏾🎉

And great work, Rayonna, for capturing it all behind the scenes! 📸✨

🎉 Week One in the books!

Our second annual Treazure Marketing Summer Internship Program (June 29 – July 31) just wrapped its first week, and we could not be prouder of this cohort. This program is separate from our JROTC Workforce Development Program, now heading into its third year, but built on that same belief: young people deserve real, hands-on experience, not busy work.
A huge shoutout to our Program Facilitator, Isaiah, who led this week's sessions on the ground at Strugglebeard Bakery, our program's home base for the week.

This week our interns:ďż˝
âś… Wrote and filmed three different elevator pitches each: one for school or a personal ask, one for meeting their clients, and one general pitch about who they areďż˝
âś… Built out their professional portfolios and resumesďż˝
âś… Set up (or completely refreshed) their LinkedIn profilesďż˝
âś… Started digging into research on the businesses they'll be supporting this summer

A few moments worth celebrating:

Aniyah Davis completed her very first resume and created her LinkedIn profile for the first time this week. That's exactly the kind of milestone this program exists for.

Rayonna Herron nailed all three of her pitches, and tailored her personal ask pitch to something real in her own life right now: finding new housing. Watching her practice it in real time with Isaiah was a highlight of the week. She knew exactly what she wanted, exactly how to ask for it, and closed with a clear call to action, so much so that Isaiah mentioned he might know people with available apartments. That's the whole point of this exercise: you never know who you'll run into who can help, if you're ready to say exactly what you need.

Sydney Jones completed all three of her pitches too, and in the process of updating her resume, realized she'd forgotten to list a scholarship she'd earned. A great reminder that this process helps surface real accomplishments our interns don't always think to claim. She also helped take everyone's professional headshots this week.

We're grateful to our Case Study Clients Strugglebeard Bakery, Attack the Sound, and others for welcoming these interns in and giving them real work to learn from. And a huge thank you to Ladies of Virtue (LOVChicago) and Chicago Youth Works for making this program possible.

All of our interns are fully onboarded with signed service agreements, and we may even be welcoming a couple more faces to the team soon. đź‘€

Week two, Interns will be meeting their Case Study Clients!! They have Introduction Slide Decks that accumulate their research, scope of work, value-adding ideas, and more. Let's go!!!
