The color red has many words associated with it. Red represents love, passion, excitement, anger, and energy. When it is styled in clothing, it could represent some of these words. Depending on what article of clothing you choose in red; it might take on a different meaning.

For example, when you look at these shades of red from a style perspective, the words I just mentioned might not come to mind. Now, let's look at the color red styled in these outfits.

Number 1: It's giving professional business casual outfit.

Number 2: Casual outfit vibes

Number 3: Relaxed and chill

Shades of red range from bright cool tones, bright warm tones, soft muted tones, and rich earthy tones.

Let's break it down a little further. Pure red, a jewel tone( like ruby) and a bright color like candy apple are cool tones.

Cherry red, red-orange, and scarlet are warm tones. These colors are more on the brighter side of the warm shades.

Tomato red, rust, and brick are warm shades of red but on the more subtle side, not as bright.

There are other shades of red that are on the cooler side but lean towards summery pastels or cooler muted shades. Azalea red is a summary pastel, maroon, and sangria are more muted tones of the many shades of red.

After having a color analysis, you might hear the color analyst say, use your neutrals as a background in your outfit. (I might have said that 🀭 on more than one occasion). Wear them in a blouse, skirt, or pair of pants because they are not as memorable. You might even hear them say, don't wear neutrals like black, beige, or white near your face. There is truth to what a color analyst says about that statement.

However, you might find a blouse, or blazer in a neutral color that is just the right fit, silhouette, or structure that complements your body shape and you don't want it to take a back seat. What do you do? You can follow the suggestions given or wear that blouse or blazer and make it the center of attention.

If you are going to go against the grain and make the neutral piece the center of attention, put some thought into how you are going to style it. I decided to wear a blouse in a color from my season that complements my overall coloring. I also made sure that it would harmonize with the blazer. Adding some accessories and texture in the same color as my blouse brought the entire look together. , ,

Winters, I didn't forget about you. For Valentine's Day your season is the main character. True reds and hot pink are everywhere in the store. You have a plethora of choices. Instead of selecting the obvious colors like, true red, candy 🍬 apple, 🍎 choose a red in one of your deeper shades. Maybe a red in wine, maroon, carmine, or dark red.

How about an outfit in a contrasting color. Black and gold are two distinctly different colors but when combined together they shine. Just remember to choose a gold that is not heavy on the yellow base.

Experiment with your color palette and try different color combinations or different shades of red when you are putting your outfit together. , , , #

Here is the last edition of Valentine's Day Outfits: Color Analysis Edition. Summers you can wear red too but your reds are more soft and muted.

Think of the reds in your palette in deeper shades like a Winter but your reds are softer. Colors like dark cherry, bordeaux, and soft wine are just a few.

Skip the red altogether and try an outfit in shades of white from your color palette. Like off-white, egg shell, or oyster.

If you want to combine colors. Try mixing one of your shades of red with a shade of white from your color palette. You will have a stunning contrasting color outfit. , ,

I am back again with Valentine's Day outfits: Color Analysis Edition. Autumns this is for you.

Your color palette is filled with rich earthy tones. Why not lean into those colors for your night out. Copper is a color that harmonizes well with your warm undertone. Add a coat in rich brown 🟀 from your palette; it complements the copper in the dress.

Choose a red that is on the brighter side in your palette. Instead of one of the deeper reds in your palette.

Whatever color you choose from your palette, have fun with style and color. , ,

I'm back with another round of outfits for the holiday. This time it is Valentine's Day. Yes, it is a Color Analysis Edition, again.

This is for my ladies whose seasonal name is Spring. The first outfit is in the colors commonly worn on that day (red ❀️ and pink🩷) I wasn't planning on styling outfits in those colors but this outfit is soooo cute. Yes, the blouse is so cliche to wear on Valentine's Day but it harmonizes so well with the pants and blazer.

You are not feeling a pants suit, wear a dress. Skip the red dress and opt in for a color from your seasonal palette. Copper is a nice choice. This warm color complements your warm undertone.

Springs, upgrade your Valentine's Day outfit. Introduce some new things. Like colors from your seasonal palette instead of the obvious colors worn on that day.

What season do you want to see next? Let me know in the comments?

It's that time of year during the Winter season when it is either extremely cold, cool, or a bit chilly. It depends on your location. No matter where you live, you are guaranteed to see people wearing sweaters. If you have had a color analysis, do you wear sweaters that are in your season? Not as it relates to the changing of the seasons, but as it relates to color analysis.

Here are some suggestions for sweater colors based on your season that will complement your overall coloring.

Springs, how about a sweater in your neutral colors. What about this cream and tan crew neck sweater? You can style it anyway you want. With other neutrals or add pops of color.

Summers, how about a soft slightly muted summer sun pink cow neck sweater? Perfect for this cold weather that everyone is experiencing. It will keep you warm and cozy.

Autumns, thinking about brown? Choose a turtle neck in the color cinnamon. Depending on your mood, you can go for a casual look or relaxed look.

Winters, try a sweater coat in black. Preferably one that is long. Depending on where you live, it can be worn as your outerwear.

This is the time of year that you can experiment with sweaters in different styles and colors in your seasonal palette. You just might find that "go to" color in a sweater that you look forward to wearing when the weather changes. , , ,

Listen up my ladies whose seasonal name is a Spring, we are known for bright, lively, and crisp colors in our season (which I love). So when you are putting on your outfit for the day and are still trying to figure out how to style the colors in your palette. Think about this.

Explore complementary colors like shades of yellow and blue in your season. These two colors combine together harmonize with your warm undertone.

Also, use those neutral colors in your season to create outfits in contrasting colors. Think about the darkest brown and lightest brown in your season that complements your overall coloring (skin, hair, and eye). Browns like caramel, tan, and beige combine with milk chocolate, medium brown, or dark brown (with a warm base) pair well against your warm undertone. Yes, Springs can wear a darker shade of brown too! , , , ,

Winters, when combining colors in your season to style an outfit, think about using complementary colors. Don't play it safe with the jewel tones like ruby and emerald. Yes, these colors are gorgeous and regal but go a little brighter. Instead, go with the bold and bright colors like hot pink, fuschia and bright purple.πŸ’žπŸ’—πŸ’œ One of these pink shades with bright purple can highlight your cool undertone.

Another color combination when styling outfits that look great are contrasting colors. Black and pure white πŸ–€πŸ€ worn together complement Winters. Especially a Winter whose value ( as it relates to skin, hair, and eyes) is Vivid (medium to deeper range in overall coloring) and one who is Contrasting (light and dark together in overall coloring) in my opinion, look fabulous in this color combination.

Winters, the next time you style an ensemble add your best complementary colors and contrasting colors from your season into the mix. , , , ,
