Let me take a minute to inform you about the vector graphics I design. A vector graphic is an image purposely designed so that it won't lose resolution at any size. So no pixelation at 1" by 1" or 1000" by 1000". It always looks the same and what's needed for logos and most advertising to look clear and professional.

While AI can come come up with cool designs they're typically raster/bitmap images and you'll get pixelated printing at any size bigger than the design file. Everyone's seen blurry/pixelated images printed before I'm sure.

Designing logos/images yourself is cost effective but eventually you'll probably have to get it remade/designed if ever needing to get large scale printing or advertising.
