In our engagement center, student leaders raise funds for the University of Illinois at Chicago by making cold calls to alumni and friends. Our Student Outreach Representatives form an important bridge between the University and our donor database. It is up to our SORs to maintain a positive relationship with our alumni and friends by updating them with the University's progress and successes, tak
ing feedback on experiences, and soliciting them for private support in order to provide an incredible UIC experience for our current students. Shifts are offered Monday-Thursday, 5pm-9pm, and SORs can change their schedule each week if they'd like. How to apply:

Step 1: The Hotline
-The first step in the hiring process is for you to call our hiring hotline at 312-585-9100.
-Listen to the recorded message and you will be prompted to leave the following information:
• First and Last Name
• UIC Email Address
• Telephone Number
• Year and Major
• How you heard about the job
• A brief statement of why you would make a great representative of the University of Illinois at Chicago
Step 2: Phone Interview
-If UIC AFOC is hiring and you pass the first round, we will contact you via email for a phone interview.
-Along with setting up an interview time, we will also email you guidelines for the phone interview.
-The phone interview will consist of a mock phone call with a management member, with an immediate follow-up interview concerning your qualifications to be a representative of UIC. Step 3: In-Person Interview
-You will hear back with the results of the phone interview in a few days from the interview. The next step is an in-person interview
-All of the qualified candidates for the in-person interview during our specific time period will meet at UIC's Student Center East for the in-person interview
-The interview process is in two parts: A informational session and a group interview with other candidates. Step 4: Paperwork and Training
-If you pass the in-person interview stage you are hired! You will be contacted with further information on required documents for hiring as well as your training schedule.
-Before your first day of work, you will need to fill out paperwork to enroll in payroll. You will need to visit the Student Employment Office in the Student Services Building on the corner of Harrison and Peoria with your original social security card, a government form of ID, and your bank information to enroll in direct deposit. Please have your routing number and account number with you (you can find this information in your online banking or on the bottom of a check).
