I am deeply honored to announce my appointment as the President of The Logan Chamber of Arts.
In this role, I have the incredible privilege of guiding our organization and our public vessel, The Hairpin Arts Center - Hairpin Arts Center ✨
For years, Hairpin has been a sanctuary where creativity and community intersect. Now, we are expanding that vision.
My core commitment stepping into this position is clear: to relentlessly protect, empower, and uplift artists, creatives, and the local communities that sustain them.
At The Logan Chamber of Arts, we are actively working to dispel the outdated notion of the “struggling artist.”
We champion the immense potential and value of every creative mind. Moving forward, our goal is to transform The Hairpin Arts Center into a proactive cultural engine; one that anticipates, listens, and responds to the needs of our community and the city of Chicago at large.
To achieve this, I am committed to establishing a new standard of “stewardship” within our organization.
True stewardship means more than just holding space; it means actively cultivating resources, ensuring equitable opportunities across all our disciplines (from visual, performing, and tech arts to cultural and healing arts), and providing a safe, collaborative harbor where artists can thrive, not just survive.
But we cannot build this alone. I warmly welcome alignments, partnerships, and conversations with community leaders, local businesses, and fellow creatives who share this vision.
If you are passionate about investing in the future of the arts and building a more equitable creative economy, I want to hear from you.
Let’s collaborate to make Hairpin a true beacon of cultural empowerment. The door is open, and the work has already begun.
I look forward to the next chapter of the work.
Get at us; we’re here to serve at the highest level.
