🫣❄️☀️ A few days ago it was 60 degrees. Today it’s snowing. Tomorrow it melts. 💬 Welcome to marketing. Nothing stays the same. Algorithms shift. AI evolves. What worked last month suddenly… doesn’t. And this is where most businesses get stuck. They try one thing, it doesn’t work, and they stop. Or they hold onto a strategy way too long, hoping it “comes back.” 👉 But great marketing isn’t about finding one thing that works. It’s about:

• adjusting
• staying consistent
• and being willing to evolve

👏 Great morning at the AmSpirit Barrington Library ☕ visitor day today! About 40 business professionals gathered to connect, collaborate, and support each other’s businesses. Between the great conversations, referrals being shared, and some incredible custom bakery treats from a talented chef in the group, it was a fantastic way to start the day.

Networking events like this remind me how powerful it is when local business owners come together with a genuine interest in helping each other grow.

It’s been wonderful meeting so many new people and discovering opportunities to collaborate.

A big thank you to Cherrisse Sabillon for the invitation. I’m grateful to have been included and look forward to staying connected with everyone I met today.

😅 ☕ Waiting for the coffee to brew this morning and daydreaming about something marketers are watching very closely…

💢 ChatGPT ads.

Right now, companies like Shopify, Instacart, and Microsoft are already experimenting with advertising placements inside ChatGPT-style search platforms.

Instead of typing into Google, people are starting to ask questions like:
“What’s the best basketball shoe?”
“Who’s the best plumber near me?”

And the platform gives them one clear answer. 👉 That’s a very different search experience than scrolling through 10 blue links.

At the moment, this opportunity is mostly open to large brands. But when it opens up to smaller businesses, the companies that move first will have a big advantage.

That’s why I spend a lot of time paying attention to these trends so our clients don’t have to.

🗯️ When this opens up to small to medium size businesses, I’ll let people know.

Until then, I’ll keep drinking coffee and keeping an eye on the future of marketing.

🌟🌟🌟 The referrals come. The introductions increase. The opportunities grow. But here’s the real question. ➡️ When your business grows… can your systems keep up?

“Success leaves clues.” And if you study highly successful entrepreneurs, one of the biggest clues is this: they build structure before they desperately need it.

😓Growth without structure creates stress.
👏Growth with structure creates freedom.

So when referrals increase, so do emails, follow-ups, projects, scheduling, and client demands. And if we’re not intentional, we end up busy… but not necessarily productive.

So here’s something practical you can do this week. Take all of your tasks and sort them into three categories:

➡️ First: Only I Can Do
Revenue-producing activities. Sales conversations. Strategic decisions. Relationship building. The things that truly move your business forward.

➡️ Second: Someone Else Can Do
Administrative work. Social media. Google Ads. Scheduling. Certain project tasks. Website updates. Things that are necessary but not uniquely yours.

➡️ Third: This Doesn’t Need to Be Done at All
Yes, some things are just habits. Not priorities.

Now ask yourself: What percentage of my week is truly revenue-producing?

If most of your time is spent in support work instead of growth work, eventually your business plateaus.

I'm a part of a business networking group that will help you generate opportunity. But it’s up to us to build the internal structure to sustain that opportunity.

At some point, every business owner moves from being the technician… to being the manager… to being the architect of the system.

Professional development isn’t just learning how to get more referrals. It’s learning how to manage the success that comes from those referrals.

So this week, as you track your thank you for closed business and your referrals, also track your time.

Because success is not about being busy. It’s about being organized enough to sustain the growth you asked for.

🤩 Have you ever been in one place for 9 years? After 9 years in this business group, it still makes an impact on me month after month. It’s easy to think business groups are just about closing the next deal. But this group goes deeper than that. Today, our session was on Good Work + Good Rest.
