I realized I haven’t introduced myself yet...Hi all, I’m Gina! The face, personality and brains behind Imbue Digital 🙋🏻‍♀️ let me share a few things so you can get to know me better!⠀

▪️ I’m big on face-to-face interaction, not so big on social sharing. It’s something I’m working on 😅⠀
⠀
▪️Marketing is my background and my passion. To me, it’s so much more than promoting and selling, it’s diving into consumer behaviors and the psychology behind why we buy and consume what we do 🧠⠀

▪️I LOVE ANIMALS!! Especially 🐶 🐶 No, I don’t own one yet, butttt I know it will happen in the future!⠀

▪️Chicago is home. Although, I dream of the day I’ll be somewhere warm, near the ocean and nature with mi amore 💖⠀

▪️I haven’t done any DNA test yet, but I’m pretty sure my heritage is Italian & Puerto Rican (so yeah, I can be fiery) 👏🏼⠀

▪️When I was 18 I got a tattoo that says “Our fingerprints don’t fade from the lives we’ve touched.” To this day I stand by that 💯 it’s a simple reminder for me to do what I can for others, be a positive influence and make a positive impact ✨

“Uhhh Gina, what is Imbue? How did you decide on it? Does it mean something to you?”

These questions should be easy to answer, but do you want to know what’s not easy? I mean besides life itself... coming up with the name of your business! WHOA! I can’t even tell you the months, days, weeks, hours, NIGHTS spent thinking of a word or words to mash together that would sound cool... I even tried making up words, it’s harder than you think! My friends and family can tell you I’m a perfectionist but MAN, I was being like an EXTRA EXTRA perfectionist with this! Honestly, I wish I could have a simple answer to this, butttt I don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️ all I can tell you is just make sure the name you choose for your business really defines not only who you are as a company, but also you as a person.

I knew I wanted my company name to be snappy, easy to pronounce, modern - but still withstand trends and time, something with a little edge and mystery to it, but most of all, I knew I wanted it to embody who I am and what I bring to the table.

By definition, IMBUE (pronounced im•byu) means to instill, inspire or permeate with feeling, ideas or emotions. This name rang so true once I let it sit in my mind, it was everything I wanted in one. single. word. 👏🏼

From Logo Journey Pt. 1, I was immediately drawn to set B, but it was kind of hard to read and define what the name was. I liked the concept and wanted to play around with it - space it out a bit, move the letters around. I also wanted to look at other options in different directions and include a mood board of inspo photos to help me picture the color palettes.

Who else feels like lately they’re on a rollercoaster that just wont stop? PUT YOUR HANDS UP 🙋🏻‍♀️🙋🏻‍♂️

I knew it was going to be hard starting my own thing, but I truly didn’t think it would be THIS hard. I’ve been going back and forth about it and wondering if I’ve made the right choice or if I’m not meant to be an entrepreneur or if it’s just not the right time. IDK. It’s testing me, challenging me...but I’m stubborn so I want to prove myself wrong and stick it out so I can come out successful.

I’m lucky to have an amazing support system but they really just don’t get it...anyone else been through this? Going through this? I can’t possibly be the only one 😩

The wonderful, amazing and talented is helping me bring this vision to life (thank you again 😚)!

FYI we’re further along in the process, but this is something I want to share because it’s a huge part of building your business and it’s brand, plus this process has made me observe other logos and I realized not many brands choose to share this journey - to each their own though!

It’s easy to tell yourself or someone else to just bite the bullet and get started and put yourself out there. But, when it comes down to actually doing it, you get cold feet. You start doubting yourself, your capabilities, what you’re good at and if people will even like your ideas, your content, YOU. Sometimes it’s easy to ignore that voice and other times you let it get the best of you. I know that feeling all to well, and it doesn’t help I’m a perfectionist and always want to get things right the first time around, but I’m not letting that get to me today.

So here goes nothing! Today is the first post on this account and even though I know the ins and outs of social media and optimal times to post and all that jazz, I’m going to just put this out there at whatever time I choose. This is the beginning of a journey full of ups and downs, wandering around getting lost and trying to make it all work.
