This weeks was to design something spooky. I wanted to do something witchy — inspired by haute couture logos like Chanel, Burberry, Dior, or YSL. I chose the word ‘bolline’ which is a small, crescent moon shaped witchcraft tool used to cut things like herbs, candles, or wood. I imagine the brand would include handmade items with hand-carved embellishments, symbolizing entwining spirits as well as reconnecting with the earth.

My first venture out since surgery was for my sister-in-law’s wedding shower! And that means I can finally share the illustration I made of them. It’s so spot on I think I was possessed. ✈️ 🏰

Trying to stay fresh while recovering from surgery. I may not have really understood the assignment but they told me not to think too hard so I didn’t, haha. I used to work at Zumiez back in the day, where I would cut custom designs into the kids grip tape, usually incorporating checkers as I was a big ska kid. I also got to play around with creating my own embroidery smart objects in Photoshop. 🧵

Today is the first day since hip replacement surgery I didn’t wake up with a pounding headache and bad nausea. I also received flowers from my favorite flower place, , from Joe’s team at . They realized after Joe hasn’t logged in to his Xbox for 8 days that I must be pretty bad, haha! There are so many beautiful flowers, impossible to capture all in one shot. Lee Lou the cat agrees. Thank you everyone for all the healing thoughts!! For those who missed it, updates on my health are in my Arthritis story group. 🌻

If I'm being honest, this challenge I gave myself to draw more diverse faces is annoying. I don't have a singular style and struggle to begin… and end. But maybe I'll find something in me along the way. I sure am seeing more in others. 🌺
