A behind-the-scenes glimpse at some 3D and VFX work from our Febreze ad last year.
Here’s a bit more about our process...
We knew the prominent scent-v***r effect needed to appear elegant and light, “almost like ballet.” 3D was the logical starting point to get an appropriate sense of volume. After testing fabric and smoke simulations, we settled on a clever mix of shader effects and a twisted 3D funnel with subtle geometric distortion. Later we configured our dynamic v***r setup to appear throughout the entire spot.
For the 3D product renders, we referenced actual, physical Febreze products (shout out to Walgreens and Mariano’s) while matching the style of Procter & Gamble’s official product images. The 3D product models were textured using official packaging art (with approved design adjustments to reduce clutter). Our final end-card scene features 9 variations of the Febreze PLUG product.
