PILSEN

The National Museum of Mexican Art doesn't charge admission, and it's still not the best free thing in Pilsen. Murals cover whole city blocks on 18th Street, and the families running businesses here have been doing it since their grandparents' generation. This is a neighborhood that notices what's on its own walls, ours included.

"Nacida en Mexico. Hecha para brillar." Born in Mexico. Made to shine. Sol knows exactly who they're talking to and exactly how to reach them, in Chicago's neighborhoods.

Ivy Hall calls it "getting reacquainted with an old friend." Calm atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, no pressure. Exactly the kind of dispensary Logan Square and Bucktown deserve.

Erie Sankofa Village Health Center opened in West Garfield Park earlier this year with a clear message: quality healthcare is a human right. Primary care for everyone, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. The best way to share that message is advertising in the neighborhoods they serve.

Like their ad says, Besco Air has been Chicago's trusted HVAC experts since 1988. Thirty-eight years in the market and they still understand the value of reaching Chicagoans where they actually live, in the neighborhoods. That's not a coincidence, that's strategy.

The steel Puerto Rican flags on Division Street have been marking the entrance to Humboldt Park for decades. A 207-acre park, a thriving arts scene, a North Avenue commercial strip full of Hispanic-owned businesses. Humboldt Park has deep roots and a community that takes pride in them. For advertisers, a community this connected to where they live is one that pays attention.

Walk down Armitage on a Saturday morning and you get a pretty good sense of who lives in Lincoln Park. The zoo is packed. The brunch spots have lines. People buying flowers, walking dogs, running weekend errands. Some neighborhoods feel like they're in constant motion, especially Lincoln Park.
