He kept coming back.
Bo Turek knew Mary Alice Love.
As Rachelle’s husband, his connection to Mary Alice and her family existed long before he ever stood at the podium inside Mundelein Village Hall.
But meeting after meeting, something happened.
Bo kept showing up.
He listened. He researched. He asked questions. He challenged priorities. And each time he returned, his participation grew deeper.
Because solidarity isn’t only standing beside someone when something happens.
It’s deciding that what happens next matters to you, too.
Mary Alice Love was shot four times by a Mundelein police officer during a mental health crisis. Her family and supporters have continued to call her killing a homicide and demand accountability for her death.
And they keep coming back.
Meeting after meeting.
Voice after voice.
Chair after chair.
Bo kept coming back.
Mary Alice’s family keeps coming back.
And we intend to keep coming back too.
But we could really use your help.
For the next Mundelein Village Board meeting, our goal is to bring 10 new people into the room.
Ten people who haven’t attended before.
Ten people willing to show up, listen, bear witness and stand alongside Mary Alice’s family as they continue their fight for justice and accountability.
Will you help us fill one of those chairs?
If you can make it, come.
If you can’t make it, share this story with someone who might.
Send it to a friend. Put it in a group chat. Share it to your story. Tag someone who believes accountability matters.
Every one of those actions can help us find the next person willing to show up.
Because this isn’t about getting a post to perform.
It’s about getting people in the room.
Showing up is where solidarity begins.
Coming back is where it becomes commitment.
