S.O.S. — Perhaps we may miss the boat in saving iconic ocean liner SS United States, a living testament to the strength and engineering power of American minds. Built over 75 years ago, it once served as our nation's flagship, earning us notoriety and a spot alongside the great shipbuilding nations of the world through its innovative design as the still to this day undefeated record holder of the blue riband for it's speed in trans-atlantic crossing. All political reasoning aside, I believe it is important to preserve in tact as a floating monument. Ongoing efforts are being made to prepare the ship for deliberate sinking, repurposing it as "the world's largest artificial reef", a tourism driven attraction for scuba divers. As it stands today, however, she is still afloat.
Save Our Ship!! The S.S. United States. Don't Sink the Ship of America!!!
