this time of the year is the perfect time to give back to the community! if you want to participate and give back but are unsure where to start, I've chosen Warm Hearth in Blacksburg, VA as my location for this year to Bless a Grandparent!

i'm taking sponsorships to bless local residents with gifts this year for Christmas! a $15 sponsorship, sponsors 2 grandparents. all profits are going to this program! Warm Heart has ~105 residents so this is the goal! they will receive a hand or foot cream, a piece of candy, and a holiday card all wrapped for them to open

How you gonna change up your name like that?? Well...a few reasons.

We decided on a new name + updated branding because

⚡️ I wanted a name that represents the direction, I want for my business. Now don't get me wrong will always be my baby but KDL was focused on pleasing and doing everything under the sun when it came to design.

⚡️ This brand relates to the exact type of clients I want to work with -- I'm talking about an expansion in e-commerce. Not solely beauty + boutique brands

⚡️ I wanted something more fun, modern, with a touch of edginess - this represents not only the designer you are working with but the clients as well

I cannot wait to show you all what I have in store coming to Kier Houston Co

There are a lot of website builders out there from Wix to Squarespace to the two mentioned in this pic. However, the one that is the SH*T to e-commerce is .
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shopify is perfect for product-based businesses no matter how big or small the product inventory/brand is.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few pros:
⚡️ Great customer support
⚡️ Able to sell on multiple channels
⚡️ Outstanding data analytics
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few cons:
💬 App add-ons can cost ya extra
💬 Customizations could be limited (not so much since they implemented 2.0)
💬 Slight learning curve

No surprise here — I took a break… I took a break from designing, from educating on my channels, from booking new clients, from touching my computer besides my 9-5, and even turned down speaking engagements.​​​​​​​​

And you know what…I do not regret one thing — I needed this time to reset, recharge and focus on what matters most.​​​​​​​​

⚡️ I’m a mom & wife first then I will focus on my work — if you all don’t know, I now have a 8 month old who is full of life, she is full of personality but best believe momma is not losing sleep because she sleeps through the entire night 🙌🏽​​​​​​​​

⚡️I started a new job - I left government and joined a pretty well known company as a digital product manager​​​​​​​​

⚡️ I began updating my workflows & The Design Lab templates​​​​​​​​

Black November will be here before we know it! There are 3 different opportunities to market to your audience...Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Here are 4 different strategies to have a successful Black Friday!

A few closing tips, be sure to promote early! Give your loyal/VIP clients sneak peeks or even doorbuster deals! Lastly, make sure your abandoned carts are set up to recapture/retarget customers that are just looking/browsing!
