Most brands say they're willing to experiment.

Then something goes wrong, the data looks bad, and the whole idea quietly gets shelved.

That was the problem on the table during the recent episode of Michael Maher Live, when Michael sat down with Sergiu Cazac, Founder of Personizely; a conversion optimization and revenue maximization platform that helps ecommerce brands run smarter experiments and squeeze more revenue out of the traffic they already have.

The conversation covered:
1. How brands actually build an experimentation mindset (not just talk about having one)
2. What a lost experiment is really telling you
3. Why the brands winning right now are the ones treating testing as an operating system and not a one-time project.

Every test makes the next one sharper. And brands that build this in early (when the stakes are smaller and the margin for learning is wider) are the ones ready to take the bigger swings when the market demands it.

The most important thing to be healthy

06/04/2026

Most people grab the shiny tool first and reverse-engineer a use case later. That is exactly why most of those tools get abandoned within a month.
Here is what actually moves the needle:
1. Breaking large tasks into timed chunks changes whether something gets done today.
2. The five to ten most repeated tasks across clients are the right starting point for any automation investment.
3. Building something once that works every time is an asset. Building something once for a single use case is a patch.
Not everything on the list needs to get done. Accepting that is a discipline, not a failure.

Most people pick the technology first and figure out the process later.

That is exactly why most of those tools get abandoned within a month.

Everyone's chasing the shiny thing.

New tool.
New workflow.
New everything.

And then ninety days later it's collecting digital dust.

The questions nobody asks before buying:
1. What problem am I actually solving?
2. What does solving it look like step by step?

Once you know the steps, once you have run it manually several times and understand where the friction lives, then you find the technology that removes it.

Know the process.

Then find where technology removes the friction.

Michael Maher and Brett Bohannon talked about this on a recent AMA.

Everyone might feel behind on AI right now.

New tools.

New workflows.

New everything.

Every week.

The brands winning are not the ones moving fastest.

They are the ones asking the right question first: how does this actually help my clients?

That one filter changes everything about how you build, what you adopt, and what you ignore.

The brands that are ahead right now did not get there by working harder.

They got there by building things that work without them having to start from zero every single time.

Most operators are stuck in a loop.
Same problem comes up.
Same manual solution.
Same eight hours.

Over and over again.

And they wonder why they can never get ahead.

The fix is not more hustle.

It is building something once, running it, refining it, and letting it compound.
