That’s a wrap on graduation season! Our Public Affairs team had the privilege of helping celebrate the Class of 2026 across more than 35 graduation ceremonies this season. From writing media advisories and press releases to crafting celebratory social media content, covering ceremonies on-site alongside our photographers, developing highlight reels, and sharing the stories that made each graduation unique, our team was proud to help capture these milestone moments! A huge thank you to our Public Affairs team for their collaboration, creativity, and dedication throughout one of the busiest times of the year. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

A highlight of the celebration came during the kickoff countdown, when attendees’ wristbands illuminated green in unison, signaling the official launch of the pilot project. Out in the community and door-to-door! VMA’s Community Engagement team has been canvassing neighborhoods to hear directly from residents about tree planting in their communities. Through the Community Forest Management Plan, we’re proud to support Los Angeles County’s efforts to expand the urban tree canopy and invest in greener, healthier neighborhoods. Behind the scenes, our Creative Services team designed the outreach materials helping bring these conversations to life!

Leadership in action at the State Capitol! Our VMA team proudly coordinated the annual Whittier Union Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council trip to Sacramento—an impactful experience designed to give students firsthand insight into government and civic leadership. From connecting with local legislators to organizing meetings, visits, a State Capitol tour, and even lunch at the iconic Frank Fat’s, our team handled every detail to create a meaningful and memorable day for students.
