August 25th should be forever known as Dolly Day. A day of giving back to your community.

Ive told this story for 20+ years.

When I was about 14 yo one of my first summer jobs was landscaping. That summer we did Little Jimmy Dickens and Dolly’s home.

It was hot and right around 1997/98. While we put in shrubs and a new irrigation system she came out and offered us some sweet tea. She didn’t have her Dolly makeup and wig on, but she was genuinely kind. She told us to just let her know if we needed anything. I was young and stupid and didn’t really care about who she was. She was kind. She offered us cold drinks, that’s what mattered.

Today, I’m reminded that people are remembered by the way they make us feel. She made a poor fat country kid feel like family. That’s what mattered. Thanks Dolly.

Rest easy 🫶

Getting People to Show Up Is a Different Kind of Marketing

There’s a big difference between advertising a band and advertising a show.

Most people aren’t necessarily looking for a particular local band.

They’re looking for something to do.

A night out. A concert. A festival. Live music. Something different to experience with their friends.

That changes the way you have to market it.

The name of the event matters.
The way it’s presented matters.
The lineup matters.
The audience you’re targeting matters.
And, probably most importantly, the reason you give someone to actually show up matters.

That’s the part of marketing we understand at Clarksville Clicks.

We’ve spent years around music, entertainment, venues, festivals, and live events, not just as marketers, but as people who have actually had to figure out how to get people through the door.

There’s a lot you learn from doing that over and over again.

You learn that a great artist doesn’t automatically create a great turnout.

You learn that throwing a flyer on Facebook isn’t the same thing as promoting an event.

And you learn that you don’t have to rub elbows with all the locals to build an audience, book shows, or create an event people want to attend.

You just have to understand who you’re trying to reach and what will make them care.

That’s also why we don’t believe every artist needs the same marketing strategy.

A cover band trying to fill a Saturday night needs something different than a DJ building a following, a promoter putting together a festival, a venue trying to increase attendance, or an independent radio station trying to grow its audience.

There isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer.

Sometimes you need someone to advertise the event.

Sometimes you need someone to help you build the concept.

Sometimes you need to learn how to market yourself.

And sometimes you just need another set of eyes that understands the attention side of the equation.

That’s where we come in.

If you’re involved in music, entertainment, events, or local media and you’ve ever wondered “Why aren’t more people seeing this?” or “How do we get more people to show up?”

Let’s talk.

We have been so extremely busy these last couple of weeks. Meanwhile, Gabbi…

But, fr.

Most of our followers won’t see this post. If you do, please leave a like comment or a share 🙏

We just wanted to take a minute to show some gratitude for the little things today.

We didn’t expect to receive this much attention and this much work so fast. No matter where we go in Clarksville, we keep hearing, “We’ve seen ya’ll everywhere.”

It gets us every time 🥹

We’re extremely grateful for every single person who has taken the time out of their day to message us or sit down for one of our presentations.

We’re grateful for the late night grinds and the early mornings rises that build our character and our love for the community.

We’re grateful to get up every day and help small business owners achieve their goals.

Clarksville, it means so much to us.
THANK YOU 🫶

We decided to do a before and after for a local business that supports other local businesses here in Clarksville. We noticed that “The Taste of Clarksville” had an AI generated flyer and logo. We only focused on the logo.

We took a little time to clean it up. We didn’t charge for this and we weren’t asked to do this either.

What do you think?

08/12/2026

All those AI posts
…they probably aren’t building trust.

And the data backs up the shift:

83% of consumers say they encounter AI-generated “slop” on social media.

Meanwhile, human-generated content is what consumers say they want brands to prioritize.

People don’t want another perfect AI video.

They want YOU.

Your face.

Your voice.

Your experience.

Your opinion.

AI can help you create content faster.

It shouldn’t become your personality.

Because the businesses that win attention aren’t necessarily creating more content.

They’re creating content that feels relatable, understandable, and human.

Stop trying to feed the algorithm.

Start giving people a reason to remember you.
