1978 100 Lira Coin – Italy 🇮🇹

The Italian job (but make it worthless). This 100 Lira coin from 1978 somehow ended up in Toronto, despite the Lira being replaced by the Euro over 20 years ago. It’s basically an ancient relic at this point. The design is pretty slick, though—featuring Minerva with a spear on one side and an olive tree on the other. A symbol of wisdom and peace, or just a reminder that inflation comes for us all? Either way, she’s a keeper.

Forged from a mythical alloy called "cheap metal," it was a key to the city’s underground labyrinth, passed from hand to hand like a sacred talisman. With a single token, brave souls could journey from the frozen edges of Finch to the distant shores of Kipling, all without digital sorcery—no apps, no tapping, no reloading… just pure, unfiltered token magic.
