I was at a conference a few years ago where the speaker was talking about how he got fooled about his website speed. He thought that because it loaded quickly for him, the site was loading quickly for everybody. In reality, his site was incredibly slow, taking 10 seconds or so to load.
He didn't realize that after you've loaded your website the first time, your browser stores "part of the website" on your computer or phone. That way, you don't have to start loading your website from scratch every time you visit.
When somebody gets to your website for the first time, it can load a lot more slowly than it does for you. That's why it's important to check your page load speed with a testing service like Web Page Test or Google's PageSpeed.
In the "good old days" before AI, a 75 out of 100 was a great mobile optimization score.
Now we routinely get our mobile optimization score to 95+ when we create a new site for one of our clients.
