Worried about a quarantine? New World screwworm movement restriction zones work much different than other infectious disease quarantines.

✅Animals can still move! Animals are able to move into and out of the zone as soon as they meet TAHC requirements.

✅Checkpoints are quick and simple! Trailers moving through an infested zone must stop at TAHC checkpoints. If animals are coming from outside of an infested zone and intend to keep moving through the zone to an address outside of the zone, they will receive educational outreach and be allowed to keep moving.

✅TAHC will work with you to avoid interrupting continuity of business! Call the TAHC as soon as you know you want to move animals out of an infested zone. We will schedule an inspection and advise you on how to meet requirements to keep your animals moving safely.

On June 9, the sixth case of NWS was found in a bovine from Edwards County. The infested zone established around the case extends into portions of Sutton and Val Verde Counties. Animal owners can check if they are located in an infested zone and need to follow additional movement requirements by viewing the TAHC interactive case map: https://bit.ly/NWS-ZoneMap

The map will continue to be updated as the situation evolves. See the current movement requirements for all detections here: https://bit.ly/TAHC-NWS

LIGHT IN NUMBERS , HEAVY IN QUALITY
Central Texas Youth Fair started Friday off with the market goat and lamb shows, judged by Luke Parr.
There might not have been a lot of entries, but Parr said the shows were very competitive, making picking winners a challenge.
This afternoon sees the market and native steer shows.
Check out the round up article in next week’s edition of the Clifton Record Tribune.

PIGGIES BEFORE THE SHOW
The swine barn at the Central Texas Youth Fair is abuzz with activity, with youth preparing their piggies for the show arena. Some swine are enjoying the cool water as they’re washed, others just want to be left alone, while others enjoy a snack.
The Clifton Record Tribune is present to see which of the 29 piggies ranging from 203 - 291 pounds will take home Overall Champion and reserve Champion.
