🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT – ROAD CLOSURE 🚨

The Clinton Police Department would like to make everyone aware of an upcoming complete road closure at the SC 72/56 Bypass (Springdale Drive) railroad crossing.

CSX Transportation will be performing maintenance on the railroad tracks and signal system, requiring the crossing to be completely closed.

🗓 Closure Begins: Monday, August 17, 2026, at 6:00 a.m.

🗓 Expected Reopening: Wednesday, August 19, 2026, by 6:00 a.m.

🚧 No traffic will be permitted to cross the railroad tracks during this closure.

Recommended Detour (per SCDOT):
➡️ US 76
➡️ North Broad Street
➡️ Willard Road
➡️ Back to SC 72/56

Please plan ahead, expect delays, and use caution while traveling through the detour. We appreciate your patience as CSX completes these necessary improvements.

Enjoyed meeting and talking to Mr. Tommy Jenkins and family at the Joanna Hornets Laurens County [SC] Chamber of Commerce and Lakeside Country Club night.

Mr. Jenkins has roots and family in Joanna. As a child he shagged balls for the one of original Hornet teams. He currently lives in NC. Every summer his sons take him to a braves but this year he wanted to come see the Joanna Hornets🐝
