I gave two groups of students the same assignment:
Run the same search across Google, AI, TikTok, and YouTube.
Then explain what appears first—and why.
Same prompt.
Completely different interpretations of reality.
What they surfaced wasn’t just a platform shift.
It was a decision-making shift.
Search surfaces options.
Social surfaces context.
AI surfaces conclusions.
And increasingly, the decision happens before the click.
