I didn’t go to school for design.

I went to school to be an early childhood educator.

Everything I know about branding, Canva, systems — I taught myself.

And for a long time, that made me feel like I had something to prove.

If I was teaching Canva, it had to be perfect.
If I was designing for clients, it had to be original.
If I wanted to be hired, it had to look elevated.

So I tweaked.

And adjusted.

And rebuilt.

And second-guessed.

What I didn’t realize was this:
All that “trying to look legit” was creating decision overload.

Too many fonts.
Too many versions.
Too many options.

No defaults.
And defaults are what make things fast.

When design takes all your energy, you don’t have much left to sell.
That’s the part no one talks about.

Now?

I design faster.
I post faster.
I decide faster.

Not because I learned more.
