When a client wants to customize an item with laser etching with an image that happens to be full color, it often times has to be converted to a 1-color vector image first. Making the 1 color image "look correct" takes experience. Additionally, the material of the item needs to be taken into account. Some materials have a lot of dot gain and will require a slight reduction offset and increased gaps to define fields. If this is not taken into account, the results can be muddy. We do ALL of our graphics in house and NEVER outsource them, as to ensure the best possible results. (In this example, the image was adjusted for laser etching glass)

This is a common issue. Wedge heads, while good at holding a center point, tend to distort metal or acrylic plates when attached to flat surfaces like frames and awards. In contrast, pan heads hold and support the plate. And, while they wont force a centering, they can allow for some subtle adjustments to straighten the piece... especially if the mount hole is slightly larger in diameter than the screw shaft.

In contrast to tumblers and water bottles, drinkware with handles are rarely considered to have a left or right perspective, but rather more of a front and back. In these cases, the orientation that is parallel to the table surface is usually the best option.

Clients often wonder why the artwork they created in PAINT cannot be used for decorating processes such as Screen Printing, Embroidery, and others. Short answer: Those images are Raster Images. They are made of pixels while Vector Images are made of mathematically defined fields that can be separated by color as well as having superior crispness in print applications. Here is an article to help understand the two basic graphics and the overlap. Colorado Custom Services, LLC provides raster to vector conversion services as well as conversion to 1-color vector for laser etching and sandblasting.

Bit map or Raster images are common images created with pixel-based programs or captured with a camera or scanner. Vector graphics are created with vector software and are common for images that will be applied onto a physical product.

Just a little FYI based on years of experience. We often get folks who want to put names on things, and then they want a fancy script font like Edwardian or similar. No problem! WIth access to over 50,000 fonts, it is pretty certain we can find something you will love. BUT then folks say "Can we do it in all caps??" Technically, yes... but it is a bad idea as far as readability is concerned. Her are a few examples of what happens. The last line is the same font above it, but using upper and lower case letters.
