Female entrepreneurship is up 69% — and that’s not a typo.
From 2019 to 2024, women went from founding a fraction of new businesses to owning nearly half of all new ones. In January 2026 alone, new business applications were up 37% year over year. The momentum isn’t slowing down.
It’s not just at the startup level, either. A record 55 women now lead Fortune 500 companies — the highest the number has ever been. And nearly half of all angel investors are now women, meaning more female-founded businesses are getting funded by people who actually understand what it takes to build them.
Women aren’t just entering entrepreneurship — they’re reshaping who owns, runs, and funds business in this country.
