JoAnn Bird Retires as Running Around Screen Printing & Embroidery and Ruby Slipper Airbnb Transition to New Owners

COLUMBIA CITY, Ind. JoAnn Bird, owner of Running Around Screen Printing & Embroidery and Ruby Slipper Airbnb, will retire from ownership effective October 1, 2026. She will remain involved for several months to support a smooth transition to the new owners.
From Home Business to Community Mainstay
JoAnn founded Running Around Screen Printing & Embroidery as a home-based business in 2005 and grew it into an successful established local business.
Before launching Running Around, JoAnn held management positions at TJ Maxx, Walmart, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. She realized her goal of working for herself while building a locally rooted business that reflected her commitment to Columbia City.
A Lasting Community Impact
JoAnn’s community contributions have included support for the Elementary One-Mile Championships, the Veterans Marathon, and fundraising initiatives benefiting numerous events, schools, and organizations. Together, these efforts have resulted in more than $1 million in charitable giving.
Continuing the Hometown Tradition
That same hometown spirit will continue under Jordan and Tamela Tincher, who have acquired Running Around Screen Printing & Embroidery, Ruby Slipper Airbnb, and the building that houses both businesses. The community is invited to welcome them as they begin this new chapter.
