Anyone else have a pile that's been staring at them for weeks? 😅

Recently on the MomTalk Maryland podcast, I sat down with Katherine from and we talked about clutter. And she perfectly described something I deal with all the time.

My office can be mostly clean, but if there's one pile in the corner, it's all I can see 👀

Sometimes I think we assume we need to completely reorganize our lives when really we just need to clear off the thing that's quietly stressing us out every day (like that chair in the bedroom that's slowly becoming a wardrobe 🙃). By clearing the visual clutter, we can give our brains a little room to breathe. Tidy space, tidy mind, amirite? You don't want to miss this episode if you're looking for a little order in your life!

Summer mode is officially on: the magic-making, the trips, the activities, the snacks, the refereeing. 😅

And somewhere in all of that...you still exist too.

🎙️Lately on the podcast...

I'm bringing up something that can feel really uncomfortable for moms: putting ourselves first sometimes. Not because we're trying to ignore everyone else's needs, but because constantly ignoring our own can leave us feeling resentful, frustrated, disconnected, and honestly? Just. Plain. Exhausted.

You don't have to be an extrovert to find community. You don't need a huge group of friends or a packed social calendar. But you do need to know what fills your cup!

The more we understand our own needs, identity, and interests outside of motherhood, the more equipped we are to show up as the people we want to be.

Maybe "selfish" isn't such a bad word after all 🩵

“The fear’s probably not gonna go away… the key is to be brave and do it anyway.” 🥹✨

🎙️ Recently on the podcast, I had a conversation with my friend Livia, founder of . Her words are such a powerful reminder that some of the best things we do in life happen while we’re scared.

We talk about entrepreneurship, motherhood, fear, bravery, and what it looks like to build something meaningful anyway.

Livia shares how all of the greatest things she’s done have come on the other side of fear, and honestly, I think so many of us needed that reminder 🩵

Because maybe courage isn’t about not being nervous. Maybe it’s just deciding to move forward anyway ✨

Some moments as a parent just stop you in your tracks 🥹

This past winter, Grant graduated from , and I shared my feelings on the podcast 🎙️

We're talking about those little wins that somehow feel the biggest: watching your child do something independently for the first time… and realizing just how far they’ve come.

Completing a maze at a restaurant. Cutting pancakes all by themselves.

Things that might seem small to someone else, but feel absolutely huge when you know the journey it took to get there 🩵

This episode is such an honest look at navigating therapy, school choices, and what it feels like when things finally start to click.

what I personally love about this event is that it’s centered around curiosity, conversation, culture, history, and imagining what comes next

and nearly 250 years after the Declaration of Independence was debated and signed in Philly… people are once again gathering in this same city to have BIG conversations about the future 👏

🎤 speakers include scholars, artists, journalists, scientists, policymakers, and changemakers from all different backgrounds and perspectives

👏🏻 and for my Maryland friends, one of the featured TED speakers is Shamichael Hallman from Rockville, Maryland — a nationally recognized thought leader, author, and public library innovator whose work focuses on community engagement, civic participation, and the future of democracy.

I also really appreciate that this event isn’t about telling people WHAT to think — it’s about creating space to listen, learn, reflect, and connect.

✨ TED Democracy Philadelphia is a nonpartisan initiative created in partnership with Visit Philadelphia and is designed to encourage thoughtful dialogue while honoring Philadelphia’s role as the birthplace of modern democracy.
