I’m looking forward to doing an event out of town!
It’s only an hour and a half away, in the wine country but it should be a fun experience.
It’s at Rancho Victoria Vineyard in Plymouth.
Pictured are some ice dyes that are batching for this event.
Batching is one of the most important steps of ice dyeing.
If you want the dyes to be absolutely permanent, this step cannot be skipped.
The piece is wrapped in plastic and must be for 24 hours at 72 degrees.
This can be shortened or a longer period of time depending on the temperature.
Yes, temperature is a factor in ice dyeing!!
When batched properly, the dye binds to the fabric at a molecular level making the dye completely permanent.
It’s difficult as I’m not the most patient person, but well worth the wait!!
I also rinse and reuse all the plastic bags as I love our Mother Earth 😊
It’s so nice running into a customer that says, “ this hasn’t faded at all,” five years later.
I love what I do. 🙏♥️
