Our confidential letter today contains some interesting news from our South Carolina office, as well as a stern reminder from Mt. Corrigan Town Council about future interactions with the library ghost.

Our late founder, Mr. Adolph Frankenstein, made the very interesting suggestion that we create a list recognizing the accomplishments of our employees, an innovation that might prove valuable in boosting our staggeringly low morale (described in last month's HR audit as "apocalyptic.") Middle management was met with a chorus of groans when it was announced that we were instituting an "Employee of the Month" program. Those groans were interpreted as being "more enthusiastic than not," with staff nominating the recently acquitted Janet. X. Warhol as the program's first recipient. Janet was recently charged with slashing a customer at the local tavern, Salty Dick's, with a paring knife. She claimed the shockingly violent assault was self-defense, but detectives disregarded her narrative because 48 of the 49 wounds suffered by the assailant were to his back, and because the bulk of her statement was in the form of glossolalia. A nervous-looking jury of her peers soon acquitted Janet. Way to go, Janet! You've won a pizza party by yourself in the second floor oubliette.

Also, Mt. Corrigan Town Council asks that you stop ogling the library ghost. Exorcisms will continue until the spirit is either banished, or convinced to put on some clothes.
