Trying out some new things 🎨

I don’t have a name for this one only a feeling. Part of me felt the need to share it. This was painted last year in the spring of 2024.

It’s been over a year since I’ve created anything, it’s not fun when someone sucks one’s creativity out of you leaving a sour taste in the mouth. Thankfully I’ve been surrounded by some pretty spectacular human beings that have been restoring that power and I can feel myself getting the itch to create again.

Don’t let awful people take your power, instead shine as brightly as you can and eventually you’ll blind them ☀️

Painted this about 5-6 months ago. Going to get back into it and paint the subjects that I enjoy painting.

Painting is a form of expression for me as well as many others out there. I will not let anyone stand in my way anymore from creating the pieces that I believe as important, not only for me but also for those who may be too afraid to speak up. Creating these portraits is a way for me to release the things that have built up inside. Some people might connect with them and some people might not, and that’s okay. We all have different experiences, that’s what makes being human on this planet so magical. There’s so much to learn from each other and I feel as though I’m just getting started ☀️

The title of this piece is “Inner Peace”

To me, a peace lily symbolizes love—love for myself, for others, and from others. A few years ago, during a difficult period, my partner gifted me this beautiful plant. Every time I see a peace lily, it reminds me of that moment. Even though it was one of the scariest times in my life, it has made me far more grateful for myself and the people around me 💛
