We were saddened over the weekend to hear about the passing of community leader Tom Jackson.

Mr. Jackson did so much behind the scenes to help Columbus grow and become a better place for everyone.

His impact on the community will not be forgotten, and he was always on our list to profile as a true Columbus Champion- because he undoubtedly was one.

Unfortunately, we never got around to asking him, and that is something we will always regret.

By all accounts, he was a good man.

Rest in peace, Tom.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all who knew him.
