Did you know the corn dog was invented at a state fair?

In 1942, brothers Neil and Carl Fletcher rolled out the "Corny Dog" at the Texas State Fair in Dallas.

Hot dog on a stick, dipped in cornmeal batter, fried to gold. Fair food was changed forever.

Drop a 🌭 if the corn dog is a non-negotiable on your fair list.

Did you know the carousel used to be a weapon?

Long before the painted horses and the calliope music, knights used spinning platforms to practice jousting. Lances out, rings up, full speed.

Glad we kept the spinning and lost the lances.

Drop a 🎠 if the carousel is still your go-to ride.

Did you know the ice cream cone was basically an accident?

At the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair, an ice cream vendor ran out of dishes. The waffle guy in the next booth rolled up his waffles to help.

One improv moment, one of America's favorite desserts.

Drop a 🍦 if you can't leave a fair without one.

The fairs that grow next year are already growing this week.

Not in ticket sales. In the data β€” who clicked, who scrolled past, who signed up for the email list, who bought again. That's where next season's playbook is hiding.

90% of Americans are on social media. 58% check a brand's socials before they ever hit the website. And digital reaches them for less than $2.15 per thousand views.

This week's blog digs into what the numbers are actually telling fair operators β€” and what to do about it before the next gate opens.

Fairs.com is built for the long game. Growth shouldn't feel like a guess.

Ever wonder where "the midway" got its name?

Trace it back to Chicago, 1893. The strip of rides, games, and food at the World's Fair lived on a stretch called the Midway Plaisance.

The name stuck. Every fair since has had a midway of its own.

Drop a 🎒 if walking the midway is your favorite part of any fair.
