Over the past several months, I’ve been hard at work refreshing not only our online presence, but also continuing to grow the studio through new partnerships, exciting creative projects, and industry recognition.

The new site gives us a better way to showcase our work, share insights, and highlight what’s happening behind the scenes at Slagle Design.

We’re incredibly grateful for the clients, collaborators, and supporters who continue to trust us with their brands and creative vision.

We’d love for you to explore the new website and see what we’ve been working on: www.slagledesign.com

Thanks for being part of the journey.

It’s not often you get contacted to brand someone’s retirement. Michael and Carlye, empty-nesters, are eager to embark on the next chapter of their lives. They’ve purchased a stunning Oyster 595 sailing yacht and are ready to set sail year-round. The name “Marisol” perfectly encapsulates the vessel for several reasons. Marisol is a popular Spanish given name that translates to “sea and sun” or “Mary of Solitude.” It resonates with their adventurous spirit and their Catholic faith.

The logo design beautifully incorporates both the sea and sun elements, complemented by a compass that symbolizes their adventurous side.

Slagle Design collaborated closely with Carlye’s vision for the yacht’s interior. They carefully selected colors and styles based on the fabric and finish swatches provided. To enhance the guest experience, we also created a captivating mermaid poster and swag as giveaways.

“Jeremy wanted to get to know us and spent quality time chatting with us, prior to putting together our design. He was super easy to work with, even while he was traveling.

We were impressed with Jeremy’s thought process on our design. He is intentionally with every detail!”

While it’s still spring, I wanted to share this packaging project I got to work on with the fine folks at Winans Coffee & Chocolate for their Chocolate Easter Eggs this year.

Adobe Illustrator brushes came in clutch for this project as I developed a library of custom brushes for the various flowers, bunnies and leaves. It really helped make the line look cohesive as each wrapper has a different set of illustrations.

As a long-time member of LogoLounge.com and a huge fan of their books, I was thrilled when Bill Gardner emailed me to inform me that he had a new book in the works. I received my copy of The LogoLounge Guide to Iconic Branding just in time to pack it in my luggage before embarking on our family vacation.

I nearly fell out of my beach chair when I spotted one of my logos on page 79!

While I have a substantial collection of design books, I rarely read them from cover to cover. However, this book was an exception. It provides the “WHY” behind the LogoLounge books. LogoLounge showcases the results, but Iconic Branding delves deep into the process of creating them.

I appreciate how the book is organized into sections and includes entertaining stories behind many of the brands featured.

I highly recommend this book to both students and seasoned professionals. It offers a wealth of valuable information. Go buy your copy today!

Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble or through your local book store.

Jumping on the / .now trend. I love seeing designers showcase their best work in black and white. It’s a more challenging assignment than you might think. I feel blessed to make a living as a maker and grateful for the many clients who have entrusted me with designing logos for their brands.

Slagle Design was commissioned to redesign the Ritter Public Library brand identity, drawing inspiration from its iconic pink marble federal style facade. The library’s existing logo, was overly detailed, posing challenges in its use, particularly at smaller sizes.

To address these issues, we simplified the logo by reducing its complexity to its fundamental shapes. An open book was incorporated to enhance the logo’s iconic nature, making it more adaptable and recognizable. This new design approach ensures easier application and improved visibility for the library.

“Jeremy was a joy to work with. He really managed to capture the unique qualities of our building and the community in the design. The community loves the new logo!”

Snowville Creamery is known throughout Ohio for their incredibly delicious grass-fed milk, yogurts, cheeses, and dairy products. They don’t just preach sustainability and the value of non-GMO dairy, they practice it. They have been a perfect match for the kind of clients Slagle Design dreams of partnering with.

It was important, from the start, to make a connection with their passionate customer-base, paying homage to the brand that got them to this point. In some ways this is a brand evolution and in others, it is a revolution.

As Snowville looks to the future, the possibilities and release of amazing new products, the new brand identity simplifies their visual branding and messaging and makes it easier to implement across a line of products.

“Working with Jeremy and Chris helped provide clarity for what we wanted to share with our customers, the experience was educational and enriching. The final results leave us with our brand being shared with our customers in a way that validates our story and connects our hard work to our customers hearts.”

Anna Shields, General Manager, Snowville Creamery

The creation of the new logo for Preservation Parks of Delaware County was not only to differentiate them from other parks, but to continue to communicate their mission to Delaware County residents. “To protect and conserve the natural and historic features of Delaware County and to inspire outdoor exploration and learning.”

“We are excited to share our new logo. It will differentiate Preservation Parks in a county that is fortunate to be home to state parks, a popular Columbus Metro Park, and other local community parks. Each step in the process was done with intent and with the goal on being good stewards to our natural and financial resources.”

–Tom Curtin, Executive Director of Preservation Parks
