SweetTooth’s Baking Tip of the Day: Biscuits

One of the worst things on the planet is a chalky, chewy biscuit. The key to scratch biscuits when using all purpose flour and baking powder is LAYERS. This is accomplished by folding the dough while kneading it. The more folds equals more layers. You will see the layers when the biscuits are cut. The layers will expand making the biscuit fluffy and soft.

If adding fruit, etc, to the biscuit remember to fold it in and add layers with the fruit mixed in!

If you want a biscuits that tastes like great great great grandma rose from the grave and made them herself...remember layers make the biscuits rise!
