Dr Dre and Kendrick Lamar helped kicked off the groundbreaking ceremony of Centennial High School "Apaches" - Compton, CA with their appearances at the celebrated event. Centennial is building a new campus that will cost $270 million and is expected to open August 2029. Dr. Dre gave a brief speech, while Lamar took selfie photos with officials and cheerleaders and just about everyone that moved into his presence. It was indeed a great afternoon for the City of Compton with former and current City of Compton - Government officials attending the ceremony and members of the Compton Unified School District being in place, too.

Kendrick Lamar and Dr Dre attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Centennial High School "Apaches" - Compton, CA today. The two music legends as well current former and current City of Compton - Government officials as well as members of the Compton Unified School District show their support for the $270 million new campus, which is scheduled to open in August 2029.

City of Compton - Government District 2 City Councilman Andre Spicer is hurling accusations that Mayor Emma Sharif has made questionable moves to sit down City Manager Willie Hopkins Jr. Spicer alleges that during a closed door session during a council performance evaluation of Hopkins, the move by Sharif, allegedly without proper votes and without lawyers being present, was to put Hopkins on paid leave pending an investigation. Both Spicer and Sharif are running for mayor.
