Here's the thing about Canva logos that most people don't talk about:

They can be recreated by anyone. Those elements aren't yours — they're shared across thousands of other businesses. They aren't truly scalable. Resizing, embroidering, printing large? Things get messy fast.

They make consistent marketing harder. Without a full brand system behind them, every new graphic becomes a guessing game.

Black Crane came to us ready for something more authentic, a brand that actually felt like her. Our designer Paulina hand-illustrated bespoke elements built around her story, and together we built out a full brand system plus marketing templates she can actually use with confidence. Her website is nearly done, and honestly? We can't wait to show you.

If your brand is starting to feel a little… off, that feeling is worth listening to.

👇 Save this if you're thinking about a brand refresh and drop a 🌲 below if you've been there.

We’ve been busy little creative bees over here building a whole collection of new brands lately. And while summer means we’ll be slowing our pace a bit to soak up time with our little ones while they’re out of school, there’s still so much goodness being created behind the scenes.

Funny little studio moment… right now we’re simultaneously working with one client whose last name is ⬜️ and another whose last name is ⬛️. I swear the branding universe has the cutest sense of humor sometimes!

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing a bunch of fresh client projects created by Wild Cabin Studio owner Laura King alongside our incredibly talented studio designer, Paulina () . We’ve poured so much heart into these brands and genuinely cannot wait to show you what we’ve been making together.

This logo deserved another little moment on our feed 🌼

We recently wrapped up the website for Buttercup Kitchen + Bath (.buttercupkb) , and we’re still swooning over this beautiful brand identity created by our studio designer, Paulina. The vintage-inspired details, timeless charm, and handcrafted feel capture the heart of the brand so perfectly.

One of our favorite parts of the branding process is seeing how a logo grows beyond a single mark and starts shaping the feeling of an entire business. Swipe to the last slide to see building signage!

We are taking more branding clients later this summer, head to WILDCABINSTUDIO.COM to fill out an application to work with us!

A nod to nostalgia.
A commitment to longevity.
A process designed to feel as good as the end result.

This kitchen + bath brand is rooted in something deeper than trends:
a belief that your home should reflect your life, evolve with you, and carry meaning for years to come.

In collaboration with Paulina (illustration + design elements) and Lindsay (copy), we brought Sarah’s vision to life:
spaces that feel lived in, memories that linger, and design that stands the test of time. 🌼

After closing in Morrison last month, this mercantile found its way to Golden, with a name inspired by a Robert Frost poem and a spirit that still feels like home.

Working alongside Paulina (our favorite designer and creative partner on Morrison + Hygge Mercantile), we brought this next version to life while honoring the past while stepping into something new.

Stay Golden Mercantile is opening soon, right under the iconic “Howdy Folks, Welcome to Golden” sign on Washington Street. Stop in and tell Claire we sent you!

There’s something so fun about exploring color… all those beautiful possibilities. But also? It can get overwhelming fast.

The goal isn’t to hand over a million options and hope something sticks. It’s to create a palette that actually feels like home.

That’s why everything gets tested on real pieces like social posts, flyers, the things a brand uses every day, so you can see how it shows up in the world before anything is finalized. Because it’s not just about picking pretty colors… it’s about choosing something you can grow with, build on, and come back to again and again.

Sharing this color direction for Stay Golden Mercantile ()… along with this gorgeous roped-and-lasso monogram by illustrator/designer Paulina (). She just gets it every time ✨

We’re just about to push publish on the new Squarespace storefront for Wyld Flower Wisdom and this one has been such a joy to build. 🌿

This project was truly a collaboration.

The logo and pattern work were designed by the incredibly talented , who brought such depth and texture to the visual identity.

The business name and brand voice were shaped with .co thoughtful copywriting, giving us a strong, grounded foundation to carry into the messaging.

From there, we built a flexible label system and website to support a growing product line and it’s been so special watching our client take those templates and thoughtfully customize each one.

That’s the goal. Not just delivering assets… but building a brand ecosystem that can live, breathe, and evolve in real hands.

Launch coming soon. ✨

There’s nothing wrong with fast. And there’s absolutely a place for AI in small business. We use it. Often.

It helps brainstorm. Organize. Refine. Speed up the messy middle.

But there is something sacred about thoughtful. About sitting with a brand. Asking better questions. Listening for what’s underneath the surface.

Building a brand means sitting with it and asking better questions and listening for what’s underneath the surface. 🤖 can generate options and remix ideas, but it can’t see when the layout needs more breathing room or when a color is almost right, but not quite. Design isn’t just assembling assets. It’s translation, intuition, and relationship.

At Wild Cabin, we use tools, but we don’t outsource intuition.

If you’re craving a brand built slowly, collaboratively, and with care… we are here. We’re currently accepting one brand project per month. Applications are open.

The last year stretched me in ways I didn’t expect.

After 15 years of building Wild Cabin Studio, pouring myself into hand-crafted brands, thoughtful design, bespoke design work I felt proud of, I hit a season that honestly broke my heart a little.

Projects I was excited about were pulled. Work I poured hours into was rerouted, revised, reshaped. Designs that once lived on paper and in careful hands started moving through AI, endlessly tweaked, endlessly adjusted.

And somewhere in there… I felt the ground shift.

I’ve always believed in handcrafted design. In brands built slowly and thoughtfully… not generated in seconds.

But I also felt the insecurity creep in. The wondering. The “Is this still needed?” voice.

In the middle of that season, I said yes to something new. I accepted a part-time role as Marketing Coordinator at Center for the Arts Evergreen. And being surrounded by artists again… real paint-on-hands, clay-under-fingernails, community-centered art… reminded me why I started creating in the first place.

It helped me fall back in love with art. With people. With the process.
Wild Cabin Studio isn’t going anywhere. It’s just evolving.

I’m still taking projects, just one per month right now, so I can give each one the care and intention it deserves. If you’ve been thinking about working together, applications are open on the website.

And if this account has been a little quieter… now you know why.

Thank you for being here. Truly. 🤍

This brand has such a calm, confident energy — the kind that makes you feel like you can finally exhale. It’s gentle, grounded, and quietly says: You’ve got this.

And my favorite little detail? The upward arrow tucked into the “O” in story. It’s a quiet reminder that every student’s path is unfolding — and that their story matters. It’s evolving, growing, and heading somewhere beautiful.

I got to work on this one alongside one of my favorite marketing pals (hi 👋), and it was such a joy to bring this vision to life together.
